  • Friend to captain All Stars?

    http://www.roosters.com.au/news/2016...08895_54138545

Interesting news... they've capped him and now consider him captain-worthy for an exhibition match. Has he been earmarked to replace Smith? And... does this suggest in the nearish future?

Good luck to him, a lot more people see in him what I just don't as a captain.

As long as Cameron Smith is playing and fit, he will be picked ahead of Friend or anyone else. It is just that Smith will be in England for the World Cup Challenge.

Yeah I still have my worries after how he handled Hasting. Not saying it's his fault, but I kinda feel that a cooler guy woulda calmed him down and been like 'I've been here bro... it's all good, nobody will hold grudges and stuff... but your career's on the line unless you respect the club's heirarchy. I don't wanna be the bad guy but sometimes you just need to suck up those emotions for the benefit of the team - got it bro? It's a big part of professional sport and that's why we have psychologists and stuff... I know this is a tough season so how about I book you a session with our psych and we can work through this together? I'm here for you bro...'

Instead he seemingly just ignored him on the field and blackballed him in pretty well all aspects.

Apparently he did a lot off the field this year though, so I guess there's stuff we'll never see/hear about that people within footy circles know inside out.

Congratulations to Jake. Great achievementin his career.

This makes it more challenging if Robbo had plans to replace him as captain. Personally, would love to see Cords and JWH share the Rooster honour.

I don't like this multi captain bullshit, the old captain/vice captain done the job ok for decades, without doubt Cords is the man to take us forward, and as captain, JWH still has too many brain snaps during a game to carry the C beside his name, and while Jake is an ok footballer, as a captain, he just doesn't cut the mustard.
