  • Our forward pack come RD 1

I was thinking today how our forward pack will lineup for RD 1 as things stand at the moment

I came up with this pack
    8.Jwh
    9.Friend
    10.Naps
    11.Cords
    12.Guerra
    13.Liu

    14.Evans
    15.Aubbo
    16.Vunakece
    17.Watson

We have some great depth there with matterson, carty, knight and Tetevano who all could claim a spot if they impress well enough in the pre season. When SST returns i assume liu will push back to the bench and most likely be used as a prop? Someone again will have to miss out.. Watson may not be there with aubbo\carty\matterson all being versatile.

How does your pack look ?

I know some on here have fallen in love with Vunakece's story but seriously barring mass injuries he won't see FG. Tried hard in his few appearances last year but had zero impact

Wouldn't say he had zero impact. I don't have the stats but from what I saw he would have averaged 8-10m per hit up. But he's definitely a top 25 player rather than a top 17. He clearly knows that by wanting to keep working as a garbo. I'm really interested to see what we do with Paul Carter as I think he has load of ability. He's just a flog. I think he'll end up as a player that other teams hate but his sides fans love.

Yeah but then you have Guerra who had negative impact. At least the garbo gave his all, didn't make mistakes and tackled well when he was out there. I agree he shouldn't be in the top 17 barring a couple injuries but I would rather his name on the team sheet than Guerra.

Lol good point re. Guerra. I'm not hating on Vunakece and i guess he is well aware of his ability and where he is on the pecking order

I agree in regards to Carter. If he applies himself he is definitely a top 17 player in pretty much every team. Guess it depends on wether he is a lost cause

I reckon he is a lost cause. Happy to give him another chance. But I can't see him finishing his career with us out of the back pages.

I think if everyone is fit that
                  8 JWH
                  9 Friend
                  10 Napa
                  11 Cordner
                  are certainties.
                  12 should be Aubusson
13 I would go with Tetevano or Guerra if they can get him to play it tough in the middle. I dont think Guerra has the stamina to play big minutes in the back row.

                  14 Liu
15 Evans but he has to play 10 times more aggressive or I would try Knight
                  16 Guerra
17 Carter or Watson depending on what team they are playing.

I think Butcher needs 1 year playing for Wyong ideally.

                      I'm hoping to see Knight.

We've got too many second rowers and we are desperate for another really good prop off the bench.

Evans, Guerra and Carter especially fill me with very little confidence.

Until Sio comes back, i think we will struggle big time making meters in the middle of the park.

Robbo won't take any risks. He will not play Carter or Tetevano in our starting 17 in the early rounds. Both will have to prove themselves playing for Wyong. Carter in particular, is a rocks and diamonds type player. He does some great hits and good charges with the ball but then throws a silly pass or gives away a stupid penalty, he's erratic. I think he will be monitored closely playing for Wyong.

i think robbo will reward anyone who works hard in the preseason and proves themselves worthy in the position he has been appointed to play.

                              I agree with that.

I didnt name SST because he wont be fit.
Vunackle I think will only make the team if there is major injury.
Chris Smith IMO is behind Cordner, Aubusson, Matterson & probably Guerra but he might be a dark horse to make the 17.
