  • Braith Anasta close to signing with Penrith for 2012

Well guys I am not really one for rumours. I'm not in Australia and I absolutely know nobody close to the club.

However, a good friend of my father is a former Newtown fringe player that is a good mate of Gus Gould. Said former player told my father that the negotiations have been going on for a few weeks and the deal is very close to being completed. Apparently Gould views Anasta as the perfect 5/8 and senior player to help rebuild the team and club culture.

I sure hope this is true. The Anasta problem has been discussed to death on this forum but it seems we may finally be free of him. Fingers crossed.

Carney is starting to sober up

    Riddell has quit

    Now Anasta might be going

    The planets are aligning .

      Great news!!

The amount of depth we have in the halves and the faith we have in carney not f'king it up again means we should definitley let Braith go.

If true, i say good luck to him
Hes a decent 5/8 and a good leader. If we didnt have Carney he wouldnt be hated for his lack of workload etc. Thankyou Braith for being one of our very few players who show some passion.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is true. Gould adores Anasta, and he would be a great fit at the Panthers. If he goes though, we look very thin across the board. Anyone know what's left on the market for next year?

His article after we played the Knights was basically p!ssing in his pocket. Makes sense now.

Too far from the spotlight for Bwaith, the money would have to be amazing for him to move now unfortunately.

As has been mentioned before Gould is Banastas Godfather and close friend to his mum. From the start Gould has speculated on Anastas ability....at times a little fervently.

He would still live in Sydney and be able to get his head on tv 4 times a week.

Anyway I thought I read he was going to be a pro golfer.

Either way I hope he leaves.

Gould has always been a massive supporter of Braith so it wouldn't surprise me at all

                          also agree with Wiity92''s post

I thought the day I saw Megan Gale naked was a good day (thank the lord for my job at D.J's) but if this is true then it will be a truly great day.

I heard a rumor that they didn't re-sign him...this may well be true.

Would not surprise me to see Braith at the riff.

The way Gus has praised Braith over the years, you would think he is the next immortal.

Yep, can see Braith & Jodi hanging out on High st. The druggie bikers will have a new local client.

Lol, is Gus is getting the Greek connection together at the riff? coach Steve, 5/8 Braith. Bringing back Korkidis & Koups from the UK?
