Guys I know this is in the wrong area and I'm more than happy to delete this when I get the answer (if I can). I figure I will get the answer a lot quicker here.

When I log in to the forum there is a section called Latest Topics above our forums. There are a whole heap of Off Topic threads on other sports started by jumbled usernames. Is this spam? Ads?

the type of adds are determined by your past browsing history on dsites like ebay etc.. quite a complicated set of mathemnatical criteria?

Yeah I get that Stevo. And am happy for that to be the case. But these are actual threads started by bogus usernames. That's what I'm referring too.

Pretty sure it is spam. It gets periodically deleted by the mods but then more come up. It is really annoying especially for the 3 or 4 of us lol who browse the off topic threads every now and then.

Surely the admin can come up with some sort of firewall or a way of not registering the names of the uploaders of the spam?
