  • Michael Gordon - Our New Fullback

I watched the Broncos - Eels game last night. The highlight for me was watching Anthony Milford smoke our new fullback like he was me standing there. Add to that his goal kicking has gone off a cliff.

That's a stellar pick up, right there.

Personally I just read that he's not happy there & the front line players aren't doing him any favours.

He's better than what we have at this moment and whats on the horizon.

So that's a piss off to Latrell Mitchell. We can't keep praying for season ending injuries to former players.

Still a 1000% better than what Bevan French served up as fullback.

Gordon is a handy pickup in the same way Luke O'donnell was in his twighlight years. He will plug a hole on the wing and bring a bucket load of experience to a very young squad.

As for Anthony Milford he has and will continue to skin fullbacks for many years to come. We'll struggle to find a fullback if the criteria is not having been beaten by Milfords pace or footwork.

Still spoilt from 2013, I doubt I'll ever see that type of off season recruitment coup of up to 7 players who kicked ass for us that year happen again let alone within 3 years of being held accountable to the salary cap.

Milf would've skinned Slater last night.

The budget($450k a year) half was on fire.

I wonder what he spent that missing $300k (in cash) on that Andrew Gee gave him.

Mitchell, while having some nice skills, in defence he is the worst we've had for a long time and I include Fergo. Fullback is a hard position and Mitchell is still learning how to be one in first grade. He can go though the same apprenticeship that RTS went through with Gotdon as his on field mentor. At least he won't be going back to his Bros and cuzs like old Rog.

Every other fullback we've recently had has had someone more experienced to train them in the real game environment. Gordon will be great to teach Mitchell on field & help build on his natural talent.

The only bad mistake we've made recently was letting Maloney walk.
But that has nothing to do with the fullback situation.
Gordon seems like a good option to me.
I ain't convinced Latrell will ever be a fullback. The crystal ball is showing him to remain error prone in that position, and the extra involvement to render him injury prone as well.

I see him as a gun centre. Potentially more dangerous than Jennings.........
                        Watson could make a fullback.

Are we the only club that grooms fullbacks ? Such a dumb idea after getting burnt by RTS

Not trying to resign RTS earlier was a pretty bad mistake don't you think ??
