Maybe the people bagging Nene were premature in their assessment. He was very young and inexperienced back then and it can take young players some time to adjust to first grade. He may be no superstar but he is making some solid contributions for the Titans. Good on him, I say.

More patience from our club would certainly be welcome. Having said that, it's not always the club exercising an up or out philosophy though - sometimes the player and/or his manager want to take the dollars on offer or the fast-track to regular first grade promised at another club. Other times, we may simply be victims of the system. The lack of a genuine reserve grade competition I think has a bit to do with it. There is probably a view that if you are going to fail, it is better to fail quickly and give somebody else a go. So, young men get pitched into first grade perhaps before they are truly ready and either sink or swim. Often they sink.

From the moment this guy left our club I knew it was going to be a big mistake. His Aerial Ability is up there with Tupou and is a more damaging runner of the football, Barley see this guy pushed backwards unlike Tupou...
