  • Nene McDonald

From the moment this guy left our club I knew it was going to be a big mistake. His Aerial Ability is up there with Tupou and is a more damaging runner of the football, Barley see this guy pushed backwards unlike Tupou...

When I saw him on tv recently I said to mrs bb "why did we let Nene McDonald go?"

    She wasn't sure.

I assumed it was for more money.

Never seen a bigger bludger in the RWB, was glad to see the back of him.

I think he had an opportunity with another club to play first grade when maybe Easts didn't think he was quite ready. Good luck to him and yes he does seem to be playing some good football

Pretty sure this was the case.

Those that play for an NRL owned club generally perform better.

                Lopsided penalty counts = momentum.

He is certainly big, strong and fast. Pretty good in the air and a pretty good finisher too. I think he would be an upgrade on Tupou, for sure. The criticism of him would be that there isn't a lot of aggression there and he doesn't seem to assert himself on the game the way his physique and skill set suggests that he might. He always looks to me like he is playing well within the limits of his ability.

He is flourishing in a team playing for each other and who have very good halves.

I would question that. I can still remember the game against Melbourne in the wet last year when the scores were level and they gave him space a few meters out. Most wingers would have scored but McDonald stayed too upright and was bundled in to touch. He may have improved in that department, but I wouldn't say he's any better than our existing wingers

                            He's a poor man's version of Toops, Latrell, Fergo...etc.

I mean, based on form one might ask why we let Kane Linnett, Brad Takairangi and Tautau Moga go. People always look better when they're playing for a winning team.

                              Far out, there's always one.....

Surely we're not far off a 'we didn't realise how good we had it when Braith was five eighth' thread in the near future - we seem to have covered every other player who left since 2005.
