Both roles are essentially the same in the modern game... can't say it was clear which one played hooker on the day. Neither possess adequate kicking skills and neither are senior enough to be captain so it's all much of a muchness.

Matterson's a lot bigger than Watson so I suppose it was logical for him to take on Friend's defensive load (again, if that even happened) while watson was tasked with ball distribution and hole running since he's faster and was on fire during that game. Be stupid to upset his momentum by saying 'I want you to defend rather than attack mate'.

Sorry, but I don't understand the complaint, and if it's legit, I think it's a niggly technicality rather than a 'yer off your head' kinda call.

He would have created more at 9 allowing Matterson to play his natural position.. Robbo could have strengthened 2 positions instead he weakened the team..

It works both ways. You would also be weakening the 6 position by moving Watson out of there. The halves have been unsettled all year. The last thing Robbo wants to do is move Watson from there after the way he has been going and therefore once again cause disruption.
