  • Can we get a win tonight?

Well guys this is a big match for us. If we can somehow get the points with the bye coming up the following week we are still in the mix. Someone mentioned recently that we have not been flogged yet this year. Also, we have not carved a team up either. How good would it be if Carney could have a big one tonight? Confidence, momentum, a sniff of finals football?

As dissapointing as this season has been and as bad as our injuries are I still hold some slim hope. A lot is riding on this match. I think we can do it. Any thoughts?

will be very difficult, remember we are missing 16/17 of our top 25 squad members depending on whether Perrett plays or not

we have very small forward pack tonight, if we lack go forward we will once again struggle to score enough points to win.

Never mind the rain....... its like farkin Pompeii down there at the moment lol !!

And to answer your question Mad Chook, no! Widdop will give Braith a towelling of Olympic proportions who will then be incased in glass and shipped off to be a prominent display in an Athens museum.

yeh, proli just get home though, too many players out for us, but luckily we've got the storm at the best possible time. I reckon the halves will be the difference, anasta and carney looked alright together last time they were there and even with carney out of form they dwarf the storm's two halves. Up front is the real test, our pack doesn't even resemble our usual FG side...not to mention the bench :O If we hold the ball we win, we have the defence to win...we just need some flare from blokes like carney....this could be a 4-competition-point win *fingers firmly crossed*!!!!

Win and we make the finals.

                Lose and we don't.

                That's what this one means.

                Massive game.

Yep, I have the same feeling. Man I hope they fire up today. Strong defence, minimal errors and there is no reason we shouldn't win. Go Easts!

I for some bizarre reason agree with this, win this and I reckon we'll be in the 8 sometime early-mid July and stay there - lose it and we'll finish bottom 4.

There is nothing to say that we cannot win this !

This is one of those attitude games.

Our Forwards have been doing the work, the backs are young and will want to prove their worth, whatch for Guerra to lead the way !

Guerra needs to offload to his support players when he makes the breaks, dies too much with the ball ..

The good thing about some of the guys that have got a chance due to injuries is that they have looked very hungry to prove themselves. Particularly Guerra and Mataka. Guerra has been impressive since given his chance. I just hope the whole team are hungry for it tonight.

We should be most concerned about avoiding the spoon imo. Even if by some miracle we make the 8 we are so far off the pace its painful, and a hammering from the Steelers or Northern Beagles awaits.
I say this year we expose some of the young guys that Smith rates to 1st grade, gently, and take it from there. No point in shredding confidence when this year is clearly a lost cause.

it sucks that we're in this position at this stage of the year, but that's all done now i guess, to say this is a "must-win" would be a severe understatement!
