  • Penalty Try!

So ok, the Bunker awards a penalty try to Cronulla tonight, but of course we don't get one when Manu gets pushed off the ball when chasing a rolling ball in the in-goal against the Warriors.
    Unbelievable!

So a Warriors defender just held back a Sharkies attacker.

Aaandddd it was given a penalty try.

Almost IDENTICAL to Manu last week.

    Which wasn't given.

    The conspiracy theory grows...

I like the sharkies. They have a well balanced team and I believe are a real chance of winning the Comp. on the call well, inconsistency is how you can sum it up. Hoffman had every right to blow up.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a competition with a winner determined fairly without key influence from game managers and draws set to protect television ratings that favour 2-3 teams and without the stench of betting agency sponsorship?

      I can only dream

Given the choice I would take the bin to the penalty try so I'm not complaining.

      We lost by 2 points.

Penalty try is potentially an 8 point decision.

I'll take both if I'm entitled

It's more the fact that there's no consistency. Both the roosters and Sharks were identical if anything the roosters were more of a chance to score.
But as usual the NRL will come up with some make up reason why they gave the Sharks a penailty try.

The bunker has brought no consistency at all.

No, it isn't. You don't get a penalty kick too. That's only when a tryscorer is fouled after scoring.

              Really??

I thought it was 4 points with a kick from in front.

Potentially it is, if as you've stated, the try scorer is fouled after scoring.

I would take 8 or 6 say 4 or even 2 points before playing against 12 men for 10 minutes.

                  Do you follow me?

It's not the bunker. It's Luke Phillips. He's a ****ing moron. Makes his own rules up.

A penalty try is not an 8 point try.

If a player is about to plant the ball down for a try, and, an opposition player slides in footsies first and dislodges the ball before it's grounded then it is potentially an 8 point penalty try.
