  • Gus unloads on Gallen and Farah

Gus is a smart man...but when he plays the ...."I told you so....."card after the fact, it doesn't endear himself to anyone.

I thought his outburst at the end of the game was a cheap shot. Especially since Gallen is leaving anyway.

I wonder how Gus is coping with the sharks doing well???
He has really stuck the knife into that joint over the years. Deservedly so at times, but with Gallen it seems personal. Sterling chimed in as well before a footy was kicked....Dont pick Gallen!!!
Well I watched both games intently and it seemed they didn't play as well with Gallen off the field.
    That is my view.

Now the thing with the NSW halves not being leaders???
At what point does somebody state that Queensland have an immortal at half and hooker. Immortals!!! The rest of the team hardly made any errors and deserved a win because quite simply they had the better players.

Maloney, Farrah, Jennings and Reynolds are solid first graders....but history wont remember them in the same vain as Cronk, Thurston, Williams, Slater, Inglis.

To mesh poor leadership with stifling an attacking structure does not make any sense unless Gallen is over calling the plays all the time. I didn't sense that last night.
Its a half truth that doesn't support his argument.

I really feel that Gus could be making a move to return as Origin coach.
It makes sense. Qld coming to the end of their elite reign.
    NSW young players coming along.
Daley was always going to be a dud.
Gould is the best man for the job....as his record testifies.
Most importantly, relating to this article is that he wont have to put up with Gallen.
    You heard it hear first.
    Gus for blues 2017.

    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Its well and good to say its time for new players. However, if these new and better players existed I think they may have been picked already. I guess NSW can't just come out and say they are too good for us. They need to hype themselves up but it is getting very boring.

However, I think the like of Gallen and Greg Bird are absolutely non-winners. They have been smashed for a decade. Time for them to move on. I'm not sure their replacements will be any better though, at least not initially.

The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks have performed well in recent years without Paul Gallen it just so happens that their squad is so talented that they can carry on despite Paul Gallen's interference this season. I hope that they can win their elusive premiership but only without him in the squad.

Paul Gallen, Robbie Farah and I would also like to add Greg Bird in there are the leaders of the New South Wales Blues team but what club football success do these players have to reference in big time state of origin matches when required? The likes of Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Johnathan Thurston, Greg Inglis etc are proven big time players in club football, representative football and international football year after year yet when was the last time Robbie Farah or Greg Bird played in the finals? It is more than just talent as those Queensland Maroons players know what's required to win big games and players like Bird, Farah and Gallen don't even play these matches let alone win them.

Mitchell Pearce was blamed for a decade of Queensland Maroons dominance but the same core of career failures were still there to lose before his inclusion and past his exclusion. It is time that New South Wales revamped the entire squad and dumped many, many players who have been mainstays during a decade of failure.

I agree with Braith Anasta's Wallet.

Big Nose and Bozo should have dumped the losers and brought in a bunch of kids that may win a series in a couple of years. Like Qld did all those years ago. All he has done by picking the same old losers is add another series or two to the losing streak before those kids make a difference. I'm not saying those kids are of the quality of those Qld ones but the changing of the guard had to happen this year even if it meant a couple of hard series because NSW lose them anyway.

Big Nose and Bozo have to be given their marching orders. Especially Fulton. The selection of Walker is right up there with Buerher. And Big Nose "picking and sticking" instead of going on form when there is no reason to because they are perennial losers is pathetic. How can they justify Farah? And Moylan over Tedesco? Walker over BJ? The list goes on.

Lastly, on Gallen I can't believe that NSWRL is planning a tribute to him at the third game. A grub, racist, drug cheat and total Origin failure becomes a myth. No No No No No.

Despite the usual culprits being mentioned as Gallen, Bird, Farah and a couple of other loafers eg Tamou. Mitchell Pearce will still be the biggest scapegoat for the NSW run of outs in the past decade and a bit.

If Daley and Fulton didn't play favourites maybe some other players would have been given a go or more of a go. Eg For last night's game Teddy should have been in the squad at least as a winger.

That and the fact our most talented halve for the past decade Todd Carney partially hrough his own fault but unfairly ostracised and ultimately booted out of the NRL for getting drunk like a lot of blokes in their 20s. He could have been given more of a go like in 2010 from game 2 when many were pushing for his inclusion.

Gallen, Farrah and Bird are all selfish merkins. Within the last few years of origin they have ruined NSW momentum with selfish plays.

Every time Gallen ran last night it was on the back of a good run from NSW when they should have been spreading it wide.

That being said NSW could have done nothing last night, the ruck control was an absolute joke, QLD especially Cam Smith was falling asleep on the play the ball, even to the point where he should have been binned for a professional foul a few times.

Frizell did more on debut last night than Gallen and Bird have in years.

And yet but for injury and suspension he wouldn't have even been there.

That's because they continue to pick the same losers rather than giving a bunch of talented and hungry younger players a crack.

Gallen, Bird and Farah need to **** off now.

I just can't wait to see tom trbojevic get a run for nsw. Will probably be better than moylan and teddy in a year or two. Tom, teddy, moylan and bj can all pull trys are out their assess. Josh Morris, dugan, mansour, Brett Morris, fergo are all big strong bodies but can't create.

Ive been saying it for a while now that Gallen, Farah and Bird have been QLDs best players. Not seeing them in a Blues jersey anymore is the absolute best thing they can do to help NSW to a series win next year.

They're all good players. The problem is they're all the same player. They're all one dimensional work horses and the team is poorly balanced because of it. There's no second phase, there's no offloads, there's no footwork at the line. They make runs and they make tackles. Qld just have too much class for that garbage.

Gus is a hasbeen... if you know better then take over and win us a series, maaaate!

QLD has the better team. Has for more than a decade. No use hating on our boys and in-fighting about it.

NOBODY can make us win until the current QLD lot retire. Gallen and Farah should be adequately rewarded for holding the guard during impossible times. Had QLD not been so strong over both of their entire careers, the might have been able to claim immortal status. Instead, the next 10 immortals will be from QLD. Unlucky!

                            I have to farking lol.

No Pearce to blame so they shift the spotlight on the above mentioned players.

Every losing team needs a good scapegoat.
