i have been saying this for weeks. he is the ideal replacement for watts and riddel who both look likely to be leaving at seasons end. is the perfect foil for friend in that he is a more nippy, skillful, fast, attacking dummy half. excellent signing roosters.
now if we can pick up a forward or two and maybe a winger, we will be in business for next season. although likely to be contracted at canberra, young vidot could be worth a go. yes he is error proned but has stacks of natural ability, is strong in the air and can find the line. he is well out of favor at canberra and appears to now be their 4th choice winger and imo, leiluas best position in the centres or backrow so we could easily have a place for him on the left wing come next year.

agree. there are equally smart signings can be made that wont attract the premium because the exposure. as i have said in the past, the cowboys are one of the clubs id target for forwards primarily because the quality but also depth they have which would mean that well targeted competitive offers could allow us to pick up a player or two quite intelligently. since the rise of tariq sims and cory paterson on his way north, scott bolton may be slightly out of favor. he is one that could be worth going for imo instead of sims if its a backrower we desire. played a very similar role to that of sims last year and has been strong this year as well.Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostTariq Sims isn't really a secret anymore... signing him last year when he was actually off contract would of been a coup.
oldfield would be a smart acquisiton as well no doubt especially considering he went to school in the east so it would be a homecoming of sorts. other thing i like about oldfield is his speed. i knew he was a good finisher and good in the air but he got out into the open a couple of times last night and showed some blistering pace. he and linnett in our backline could give us some real strike power and pace outwide which is something we havent had for a while

Yep I like Vidot, all young players are error prone when they come into grade ,you only have to think back to mini.In regards to hooker for next season, whats wrong with Dunbrell, this kid looks very sharp, having Jason Taylor as a coach hasn't done him or the other 20's any favours.Originally posted by roz View Post
