  • Just watched the replay for the 3rd time"......

I may be stupid but I wanted to triple check before I vented on the total mismanagement and officiating of the game. Once again this is not about the penalties we gave away as 9 of the 10 were justified, the last one by SST on look was a joke, SST dominates the tackle and gets Luke on his back, Luke like many other Warriors players wraps his arms around SSTs leg and SST is penalised. Bs. Decision
2 crucial decisions they were not played out and reviewed were when the Warriors knocked on, Manu gets the ball after a rebound and has daylight in front of him and is called back for the Warriors knock on, why? We didn't knock the ball on.

The Matterson one was another, he was in under the posts, why wasn't it played out and reviewed?
I counted 6 occasions the Warriors played the ball sideways, 11 occasions they walked off the mark by more than 1 mtr, 3 knock ons in the play the ball, 4 blatant forward passes, 2 cynical 3rd man in below the knee tackles by Matulino and the blatant high shot on Tupou.

This isn't taking into account the laying in the ruck and offsides that were not awarded.
It has been a disastrous season, we have contributed a hell of lot to our demise, last night it just appeared Maxwell was hell bent on hammering us and doing everything he could to prevent us from winning.
    End of Rant

Does feeling like a victim make a loss easier or harder to take?

      Serious question...

Walking off the mark over the top of the tackler is a great manoeuvre. Free metres at worst and a penalty most of the time.

Funny thing is it cleared my mind, posting in the moment is thrawt with danger, I watched it a second time to confirm my initial feelings, then a 3 rd time this morning to get my tally right, it has now been deleted with most of our 2016 matches

That's the beauty of referring one side .... if they complain about the ref, they will in most cases justify almost every one of the penalties they've given, but the ones they've ignored rarely get a mention.

If you went to work today and complained about the referring, your workmates would say your a whinging sore loser and your team shouldn't give away so many penalties ....... the penalties ignored wont even rate a mention ....not until the media in amongst all their completion rates, tackles, errors. offloads etc include an unlikely stat about penalties not given or at the very least breakdown the penalties into discretionary and compulsory penalties ..... then we are never going to be heard or taken seriously about bias reffing.

The worse penalties were the ones at the start of the game for holding down. Didn't seem long at all to me but easily marched them down field for no effort for the first ten minutes.

Curious on your thoughts on how Jackson Hastings played on this game? Apart from the brain snap on the last tackle I thought he was really good, however, common Pen consensus was that he was terrible and Matto played well (who I thought was error riddled).

Agree on your thoughts regarding Hastings. His short kicking game close to the line is better than Pearce or maloneys. His goal line defence and numbering up was fantastic. He showed a long boot today despite not being able to find grass most of time. Would like to see a fast, direct and creative half next to him. Him and matto are both solid young guys but they don't compliment each other. There's no leadership, management or speed.

there must be a bit more to the $40k trent paid out for his last out burst about the reffs. Maybe there is $100k if he does it again maybe.
On pearce, why is a calf strain taking so long to repair, is there more to it.

I think we look for reasoning... if it wasn't 100% fair then IMO when it's a close game you can understand what went wrong.

Seems to appear that way to more than one person.

Yes, a penalty-a-thon in favour of the Warriors...many of the penalties were jokes...Warriors won.
And like you said...what about all the penalties that should've been awarded to the Roosters for infringements by the Warriors.

                            What will happen about it?
Nothing much, my guess...our demise will be cheered in most circles, seems to me.

I think people on here get a set against a player and they highlight the negatives to such an extent that they ignore anything positive the player brings to the table. The only things I could bag Hastings abiout are the kick from the Kane Evans break and the non kick on the last tackle where it looks like he and Liu have not realised its the last tackle. Aside from that I thought he was pretty good
