Just an idea I've got about the salary cap for the Roosters...
If this is a good idea, I suggest you take it to Easts first for our benefit. For example, I'd hate to see Souf$ use this to gain a few of our players.

Okay here it is, and it just needs a little tweaking from here
All 25 players in the squad are signed on for 100 bucks each a season
Forwards are given 15 bucks for every meter they make and 10 bucks taken off them for every meter they are driven back.
(some good incentive there for young Braith) and 30 for an individual tackle, and 15 for being part of a gang tackle.
Halves 100 for every time they put a sweet pass on that puts a player through a gap and a 5er for a run of the mill shitter pass,
and 10 bucks taken off for a botched crapper pass. 2 grand for a 40/20 and 30 for one on one tackle an 5 for being the little hanger
fella in a ganger.
Backs 10 bucks a meter made and same as halves for the tackling business.
Long distance individual try 2200, short distance 1500, barge over 1200.
Goals 400 from the side-line and 300 from anywhere else. This will make everyone in the team try to become the best goal kicker in
the club so they can earn the extra coin.
Something like this will elliminate the passengers and lazy farkers. Everyone would put in their best efforts every week to earn
more cabbage.
Statistic based incentives actually encourages individualism, you are better off just paying x for a team win and x/2 for a team loss across the board.
Agree with incentive based contracts, but they are hard to make work under a salary cap. I agree with elo - best case is pay more for wins - but then you have to 'budget' for a certain amount of wins a year. If you go over, you cheat the cap. If you go under, players get payed less than they could get at clubs on the same points, get pissed off and look elsewhere.
No decent player would sign on for an incentive based contract when they can get guaranteed money elsewhere.. For starters one serious injury and you are well out of pocket and secondly your salary is largely dependant on the peformances of others..
