MITCHELL Aubusson is set to announce a three-year extension with the Roosters to finish his career a one-club man.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Aubusson confirmed he was edging closer to finalising a deal to keep him at Bondi until the end of the 2019 season.
The versatile back-rower has played 201 first grade games for the Roosters since making his debut with the club in 2007.
“We are deep in negotiations now, so hopefully in the next week or two we can get something sorted,” Aubusson told The Daily Telegraph.
“That would be massive to be a one-club player and to be a part of this club over so many years.
“I’ve been very grateful for that and if I can get this across the line it will be a really proud moment for myself and my family.”
While Aubusson wants his future to be finalised, he admitted he’d happily swap it for two competition points.
