  • Do we really need Joe Burgess ?

I dont think he is NRL material. Who recruited him

His speed is what we need.....Perret & Rona are not quick to turn around I kicks so if I was Pearce & Hastings I would look to use his speed this weekend to expose that weakness

I actually don't think there is anything particularly wrong with Joe (besides his hands, which are terrible). He'd do well going to another club that actually needs a winger, and also somewhere where he can play outside a centre who has the slightest clue on how to defend an edge. He's not really getting a fair shake at showing his true wares on the end of our shoddy attack either.

We don't need him at easts though. SKD and Toops will do just fine with Ferguson and Elliott in the centres

He seems fast but he was terrible on Monday. He can't catch a football to save his life and his defence is questionable. I see him as a depth player only.

A few years ago when he played against us in the world club challenge I thought he had some thing...anyway he does he has the 2016 chook disease

On Monday night he lost all confidence in the first 20 after those two dropped bombs. He is way out of his depth imo. In England with the less intensity in defence and more space, he kills it.

If he could catch a bomb or pass the ball from dummy half , he's be a better player.
Hard to watch , he doesn't fill me with confidence when the ball goes up.

Oh so its not just me, I thought he needed to get used to the heat early in the season but now he looks like a very average NRL footballer, Quick yes, but more is needed.

I think I summed him up like this when we signed him.

'He's tall and quick but has hands like feet'. I haven't seen anything yet to make me change my mind. Apart from the fact he's not as tall as I thought.....

As much as it pains me to bag a fellow Englishman, he's not first grade material at the moment.

Give the bloke a chance.. He has come into an under performing team and you expect miracles?

Everyone's defense is terrible outside Ferguson

I'd put Kane on the wings before giving Burgess another go. At least he'd smash his opposite player and probably catch better.

Kane would be shocking trying defend on the wing let alone outside Fergo... Fergo should be shifted to the wing..
