This club is in desperate need of leadership both on and off the field.

I lay the blame squarely on Pearce for putting not only Hastings, but the Club in its current predicament. It's set Hastings development back tenfold in my opinion.

On Monday night I actually thought Hastings was the better of the two halves. Not that it was too hard - Pearce was awful.

The problem as I see it does lie in the fact that they are similar players. If it's true that Hastings is to be dropped, I hope he cops it on the chin and goes back and works hard on his game because if Pearce keeps serving up what he did the other night then he'll be on way out the door.

The other thing is that if Hastings is dropped we can expect to be going back to a 40 - 50% goal kicking success rate.
      I agree with you.

            Matto in Hastings to Wyong.

            He will be back

His attitude issues have caught up...

I think everyone is over reacting. Hastings definitely needs some form and some confidence. A spell at Wyong can only be good for his long term development, if he is made of the right stuff. I can't see any point in dropping Pearce. At his age and with his experience there is nothing he could learn from being dropped. He has helped create a mess and now he has to help fix it and once the season is done, hopefully the club sets him and the rest of the bludgers like Guerra free. To hear Guerra say when interviewed that they 'turned up with the wrong attitude' is a disgrace.

The bloke has had too lead a team without Ksheck, Jennings, Maloney, JWH, Cordner, SST and SBW. All these X factor players capable of turning a game that have carried the other bloke over the past few seasons.
He gets to play alongside 18 yo rookies at 5/8 and fullback, lazy centers and a team lacking penetration up the middle.
If the rumors are true, Hastings is just another sacrificial lamb for others more deserving
How is that any different to the teams that Mitchell Pearce had to lead in 2007, 2008 and 2009?

Because it's now 2016 and he still hasn't improved much,so that's nine years of crap Hasting's i feel will improve alot.

2007 he had Mini,Wing,Fitzy, Monas, Harrison, Flannery, Toops, Myles, Roberts, Anasta, Shillo to name a few pretty ordinary line up????
2008 we lose Wing and add SKD, Mason, OMeley
2009 We take out Harrison, Flannery, toops, Roberts and bring in Friend, Maubs, and we still have kiwi internationals Sa, FPN, the Paeas, Soliola, perrett

I do not understand your point Baw or Dim Sim or whoever you are

                      I'm happy with this.

I was criticised by some - hi R6 - for saying that I hadn't seen Hastings do anything impressive leading up to his run at half last year - in 1st or U20s.

And I've seen even less from him this year. He has the worst long kicking game and bomb I've ever seen. He's also a lightweight when taking on the line as he doesn't burst towards the line with pace or power. And his passing game hasn't been anything special. And to top it off there are numerous reports that he's an egotistical dick!

Matterson showed more at 5/8 in one game than Hastings has in the halves all year.

Also I still view Niko as our future 5/8 and Matterson can play anywhere so I won't be perturbed if we've seen the last of Hastings.

I believe your memory is letting you down, Your bloke had a team of superstars around him and failed dismally, Hastings has a team full of fellow kids around him with no other play makers and you are happy to sacrifice him.

I really do not understand your argument, it is only making your Fav look a worse player than what he is.

Amazing comparing a 20 game surrounded by kids in key positions to that of the Teflon one surrounded by Internationals for 11 years

I feel that due to my extreme bias, bordering on hatred against one of our halves, any comment I make will come across as tainted by that.

Think he has hurt his son more then anything with his social media presence ... also a sign of where the sense of entitlement and ego may come from?
Part of me seriously wonders whether certain players havent been putting in 100% with this result in mind

No issues from me in him been dropped. No one in the current side has a mortgage on any position as far as I'm concerned. Hastings is not a Fittler, Meninga, or Lockyer.

Sometimes I think players with famous fathers are treated a little bit differently than others. Like Pearce. Rushed in to the side, rarely if ever dropped, and protected by all and sundry.
