Tell me how is it that Jamie Lyon can make himself unavailable for rep honours and still play for Manly all these years and Pearce can't do the same, just asking.

I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe Lyon claimed 'home sickness' while traveling to Queensland.

The rule was actually brought in to prevent players turning lesser rep games like city/country into a farce by withdrawing at the request of their club coaches. Given the prestige and large match payments associated with State of Origin, I doubt any player would treat those games with contempt.

HC, you are off the mark. The official rules state that if Pearce doesn't make himself available for selection then he won't be allowed to play for the Roosters either. So, in fact Pearce is saying exactly what the club needs him to say. Daley is also saying exactly what needs to be said.

There are no doubt confidential discussions going on between Pearce, Daley, and probably Robinson as well. If Pearce not ready to play then no doubt Daley will do the right thing by him and publicly make an excuse to warrant non-selection.

Daley doesn't want his team to get towelled. If a guy says he doesn't wanna play (e.g. Keary made it clear he doesn't wanna play for NSW) then they won't pick him.

I am still hopeful that Hayne will come to his senses before the cut off date. With that said, i'm a strong believer that 'prep is everything' I have stocked up on sausage enlargement pills and have an all weather pump ready to go. My beauty therapist is also on standby to remove unwanted hair.

The cooler weather is an issue as are those P platers who are on the rack, and, driving brand new Range Rovers whilst on their phone.

A little reality check is needed, he has played only ONE game this season. And it was against a crap Nights team. Played with a lot of emotion, but will take him a good month of footy to get match fit. Playing/getting picked for Origin would be a mistake. Daley is a goose if he forces him to play. Just seems like bullshit paper talk..
