  • No SBW in 2017

Just reported on Channel 9 news by Weidler that he is unlikely to return. Most probably heading to Europe to play union or re-sign with the All Blacks.

I'd say our hard chase of Coote proves this to be the case

A valuable lesson for those in charge.

I think that our club looks very silly for letting go of players to free up salary cap space for players who will now not arrive at the club.

            Not many cross Nick.

            Can't imagine SBW being one.

              Cross Nick?

His signature was for 2 years unless you know different?

Good. No more hoping for a savior. There's no-one coming to save us.
                SUPER DRAGON!

It could be by mutual agreement. SBW has missed quite a bit of time through injury since leaving the Roosters. May have told Nick he is worried his body might not handle it.

He was never going to be a savior in my opinion, we got the best out of him in 2013 and he was heavily marked in 2014 and was not nearly as effective, his body will be 3 years older next year and chances are would be less effective than 2014. The money we would have spent on him would be better spent elsewhere.

Peanut Weilder wouldn't know his arse from his hip. Immediately after the report on 9 went to air, he tweeted that "the Roosters will make one final play" for Sonny. That subsequent tweet alone dilutes any credibility there may be in 9's report. This pretender of a journalist is on par with the Macleay Colleage Professor (Josh Massoud) and company. Until such time as Sonny announces his next move, everything we hear and read is second or third hand hearsay or, in lay man's terms, most probably bullshit.

If Sonny comes, I'd be pleased. If he doesn't. It's all good. There's money to spend on others. The glass is half full!

This is our current dilemma. We have all the money in the world, but no suitable players are on the market.

                          1. Hayne... nup
                          2. SBW... nup
                          3. Coote... Cowboys fans are pretty confident he will re-sign, they just need to hook him up with that shonky building developer who was cleared a few years back because giving somebody a $1,000,000 house for $50,000 is just 'giving investment advice - he's the one who chose to spend his money that way'.

Right about now I wouldn't blame people for thinking 'sure Jennings wanted to go and RTS got that massive offer... but we coulda kept Matagi + Maloney and we'd have won at least half our games this season, and still had money left over for 1 more signing'.

Cowboys won't be getting coote unless tamou decides he wants out which is possible. Dragons releasing matautia when they have garbage outside backs probably shows they're close to signing a classy back..

I'd say us chasing a 5/8 or fullback has nothing to do with SBW at all.
