When my son was born, I heard a person on radio talking about "parenthood" and being a new dad, I listened to this experienced parent impart some pearls of wisdom........that "being a parent is a constant process of reducing your expectations.." and that has helped me from time to time
This year, I feel that this applies to following my beloved roosters.
In some ways its worse than 2009. That year the writing was on the wall. We had let go many players & had a change in coach the year before. Things just felt shit.
But last year, with results going for us the team exceeded expectations and what a ride to the GF it was!!!!
Now we know what the boys can do, and it astonishes me how we can self destruct off the field so damn much, and now on the field with such inept performances. It really is embarrassing to watch. I want to turn away, but its like a car wreck, you can help but look.
I'm not gonna say we should sack this person or that person, but i can't help but wonder if anyone in the club knows what the problem is??
In stead of expecting a our player to make an effective tackle, I get the feeling or premonition that the opponent will always somehow bounce out of the tackle, run through it, or at least get the offload away...I've seen every team this year do it to us, you just know they're gonna bust us.
I hate having that expectation.
