I hope that the Sydney Roosters club are writing an official please explain letter to the NRL if this Liam Knight only receives a 4 match suspension.

If he would have been a Roosters player 12 month minimum and the idiot brigade ( Lumby ) would be calling for him to be deregistered for life. Since he's not 4 weeks will suffice.

If a passenger had recorded him driving at 140km and then posted it on social media, he wouldn't play again this year. But no video, less of a penalty.

Pissed and doin 140 behind the wheel of a potential deadly weapon and gets 4 weeks. Lucky for him he didn't have a dog in the passenger seat. Amazing...

4 weeks for Liam Knight is an absolute disgrace. I really hope Uncle Nick has his say on this.

Will he be run out of the country and forced to attend rehab overseas? Will his college remove his photo from the foyer? Will he be hounded by social media experts? Has he given any remorseful press conferences? Will he be fined $125K? Where are all the sensitive news reporters from Channels 7 & 9 who are offended by the mere sight of rugby league players? ...what a world we live in.

I couldn't give a rats what punishment he gets.

I don't understand the outrage shown by many on here for his punishment. He is a relatively unknown player effectively who has not played a single nrl game compared to pearce who is a club captain and origin player. Plus, rightly or wrongly, pearce incident was plastered all over the news both on tv and in print.

Todd Carney got less than that when at the Chooks and no one was whinging then ...

Also when Jake was first caught DUI when he was a young bloke he got 2 weeks, and he was well over as well.

It's called making allowances for young blokes having 1 error in judgment, which is fair enough. If you don't learn from that mistake, expect to be punished accordingly.

Pearce needed time out of the game to focus solely on getting his life in order, and to try and sort some issues in his life that were years in the making. And congrats to the NRL for ensuring he has the opportunity to do that, without the distraction of playing footy every week.

Jake was required to attend alcohol abuse classes for 6 months as my friend was the one to had to drive him every week and I remember plenty of people pointing fingers when Todd Carney was caught. All of these players who are well over the limit could have easily killed themselves or someone else. Chris Flannery wrapped his car around a tree a block from my house once. That is far worse than being a fool in a private home where no crime was committed and no-one's life in danger. And i disagree that players should be treated differently depending on how famous they may or not be. I am merely pointing out the inconsistencies handed down by the NRL. It disgusts me that women bashers are still allowed to run around and collect trophies and premiership rings and they are still revered by the media. I'm still of the opinion that the $125k fine is way too harsh and I expect consistencies from the governing bodies. You can't pick and choose which players are to be held up as role models and which are to be ignored. Once the jersey is put on and that contract signed, all registered players should be held accountable for their conduct as employees.
