    "Rooster Man" should be played as the Roosters Run-on & Easts theme when we win

    Rodney Rude once joked that "an intellectual is someone who can listen to the William Tell overture and not think of the Lone Ranger"

    Today I was saddened to hear the guitarist for Daddy Cool passed away. This news got me thinking and I feel the same about Manly and "Eagle Rock" as Rodney does with the William Tell Overture and the Lone Ranger.

    I love the Easts Theme song. Have it fully memorised for dozens of years and a highlight is sitting in the stands, belting it out after a victory. I noticed they played it as the team ran out last week. I do not remember this as normal. Usually, the NRL gives every club a selected tune across clubs.

    I believe we should play the old Village People song, "Macho Man" that has been rearranged to "Rooster Man". Freddie Fittler used to state that nothing would psych him up better before a match than "RoosterMan".

    Thoughts appreciated.

    Hopefully Roosters will read this forum and take note if the consensus agrees and we start building a history.

        Sorry Axe, not a fan of the Roosterman song.

        I like tradition and they should always play the original when we win.

        If they wanted something modern on occasions when they come out they should play Rooster by Alice in Chains or at least the really heavy bit.

            Rooster man sucks arse. So gay, so stupid.

            Ramones - Blitzgreig Bop or Fugazi's Waiting Room would be good.

            Rooster by Alice in Chains is inappropriate. It is a song about the Vietnam war or more specifically Cantrell's father and his time there and what it did to him.

            I love the original Rooster song too.

            Someone should tell the Panthers to change their shitty music too. Same crap for years and is awful.

                      We have also sometimes run out to Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. I'm sure there are others but they are the better ones I remember.
