No Ceo still for the NRL and the woman in charge of the Integrity Commission has suddenly handed in her resignation during the Pearce saga. All very strange to me
Actually, if you and I had of done what Pearce did no one would give a $hit. It would not have raised an eyebrow.

I'm as pissed off at the stupidity of Pearce as everyone else. But reality is 'Police would NOT have been straight in'.

All along, I've stated the case for Mitchell being sacked. For the reasons of Rooster brand damage as a multi-offender and also for as our Captain taking others with him.

I'll support the Club and Management in their decision as they know more about what is happening than me.

BUT and this is critical. This HAS to be his LAST CHANCE. Any more cock ups and he is gone. Pre-Season, mid-season or Semis...Gone. No tolerance from the CLUB nor the Fans.

As a cynic, I feel this was planned all along for Mitchell's return and recovery around this time. The NRL/Club will hand him a fine including a suspended fine; a "stern warning"; a 6 game suspension that will become Mitchell's pre-season as he cannot be sufficiently fit to play FB. I feel this has been very well planned. The game needs its stars - they are the product. I am cynical because I've seen players' behaviours being covered up for as long as I started supporting RL.

Spot on Yak. What Pearce did was absolute stupidity & he is paying for it.
But he did not assault a woman. Steal someone's car. Or damage someone's property.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

No one can question his stupidity or naivety in the situation.. That's unquestionable. But if you want to start talking brand damage then surely SKD situation must be much more alarming than what Pearce has done.. If we are going to start talking what's morally or socially accepted..

They're bang on Yak and John Corey.

Anyone who thinks Pearce should be sacked for what he did is detacthed from reality. And anyone who thinks his returned has been orchestrated to coincide with Rd 1 is delusional.

I'd donate what i could to charity to see one of these keyboard cowards hop into the ring with Pearce and double it if Mitch knocked them out.

The overreaction from people is still incredibly high. I find it disgusting that people can barrage our own players with such hatred.

It wouldn't even have to take getting in the ring with him.. These people are the same type of person who if they encounter Mitchell in public,( which would be highly unlikely because I doubt they leave the confines of their bedrooms) would probably approach him for an autograph and go on about how he is their favourite player..

Reserving my judgment until the decision is handed down. SKD may well be proven to be innocent of all charges in a court of Law

At this point in proceedings, what both have in common is Management trying to minimise brand and reputation damage.

Only my family believes I am delusional and detached from reality. Lol

Just stating my opinion. I am entitled to feel the way I do without name calling on your behalf, LC. My opinion is based on the experience of supporting the RL and seeing cover ups being orchestrated across nearly every Club for many, many seasons. I could name some but for fear of libel. I'm sure you would know of a few.

Finally, whilst I stated my opinion which I reserve the right to state on this forum, I have also said consistently that I am a fan of TR and I trust his higher order thinking and judgment. If their decision, which is based on more facts than anyone on this forum knows, I'll accept their decision.

Too often on this forum, the person with an opinion is ostracised. The real question is when will some people on this forum grow up and allow others the right of free-thinking and the freedom to express it.

What do you constitute as a coward?
If someone doesn't agree with you and has there own beliefs?
Because it seems that if someone has a strong opinion against a players actions they are cowards for expressing it on a public forum..
                            Pfffttt give me a break

Are you kidding? Of course his return was designed to coincide with round 1. The journos have plenty of other garbage to report at this time of the year that no one cares about Pearce and yesterday's news. No one has suggested he will return to play round 1. But I'm positive the PR team always intended to bring him back at this point. A 30 day stint in rehab, probably sufficient to the general public. Obviously not enough time to achieve any real outcomes other than a detox. I hope he has his shit together because our roster is much stronger with him here. I'm just sick of the **** ups and the headlines that surround our club.

More sick of the nrl who have zero consistency or credibility in punishing offenders.
