    • Wow... An ambush... Just too much possession in that heat. Once they converted that possession bias into early unanswered points we were toast.

SKD our best by a country mile... Proud of him, so deserved that meat pie today. Honourable mentions to SST and Niko did some quality stuff.

I underestimated Souths... No mistakes, or missed tackles and hit hard. Thought they were cannon fodder this year...maybe not. I still think we will be in front of them come seasons end though...for sure.

My only "we should have" reflection is the lack of opportunity for Latrell. We have to use him better...but as winger he prob needs to have the confidence to go in and call the pill too. SKD...as good as he was...didn't feed him.

Stay with it guys...we have plenty of improvement to come. It will be worth the wait.

      • Good on ya Eddie, Lindy Chamberlain syndrome will make it uphill to round 9.

I have faith they'll all be better for the run today, it was our second trial.

          • I admittedly left at half time but that was because the crowd was full of useless idiots (at least useful ones can be used as cannon fodder) and I don't much like large crowds at the best of times.

What I saw of Jackson Hastings makes me think he will be something special. A few errors but his first time leading the team around wasn't terrible.
            SUPER DRAGON!

            • Well that was horrendous. First game of the year and lots of new players sure didn't help.

I really hate Fergo at fullback. He just doesn't look comfortable there.

Got to love all the commentators going on about how un-roosters like it was. They seem to forget we were missing 7 top line players from last year's squad. It was never not going to affect the team!

              • Definitely not time to panic yet - although some of you seem to be - but that sure was a humbling reminder of how much work we need to do due to the salary cap.

Our defence was piss poor and our forwards were soft in the wrestle and attack. Our attack also seemed very predictable and sideways near the try-line; I also felt like last season there were some signs of this too in big games. Whilst Hastings is solid he is still very raw in his running game; he doesn't attract many players when he runs the ball.

Im the end, Souths were way too solid and they'll probably feature in the top 4 again.

                • The person that I felt the most for watching the game was Kurt Drysdale. Some people get so wound up about a football loss & then you see this young guy who has a tracheostomy in a wheel chair because of football with a big grin on his face on the side line just loving watching his beloved Roosters. Kurt I didn't realise the extent of your injuries & I just hope you have more good days than bad you truly are an inspiration.

Peanut brained idiots like you aren't clever enough to realize that the dummy half and halves can't really do anything when all they are doing is tackling. Particularly in the first 20 minutes when the temperature was 30+ degrees. It drained the entire team.. They put in more effort than you would in an entire year at the sheltered workshop that you work. Jake made 57 tackles and missed only 2 so I am not sure how you expected him to dominate in attack when the forwards aren't going anywhere. Same for the halves when we were lucky to get out of our own half by the time we got to the 5th tackle.

I don't disagree that Friend was dissapointing in 2015 but when you consider he almost died late 2014 and had no offseason it does make it a little tough. Little men are only good when the big men up front to their job. Napa and Evans were owned and Guerra and Aubs too lightweight. Throwing on Henderson as a running forward only made things worse.

This post isn't just aimed at you, I know you are too intellectual incapacitated to understand but for the others here with an IQ above 75, it may make some sense.
