I'd let him concentrate on his own game and give the job to someone else.

Actually if you look at many of the captains of sporting clubs, including NRL, a drunken incident or two appears to be a pre-requisite of being captain.

I don't see any reason to take the captaincy off Jake at this point in time. All that may do is stir up discontent within the playing group, if it appears to have been done for no valid reason.

Moa is no certainty to even be at the club after this year, so why give him the captaincy? He can be a senior player and role model without it.

Thing is, they cant announce a new captain till the Pearce punishment is handed down. And thats not happening till he gets back, which is not happening till a month into the new season.

All this makes me think, they will keep Friend as the sole captain for the full season.

Moa I think will be very similar to Friend - in that, they both seem more of "less talking, more action" kinda captain. With JWH and Cordner out till Rd 10, and Pearce only back in the country in a months time - I think if there is going to be a captaincy change it will be JWH or Cordner getting the gig as the timing seems to work out from the look of things.

I don't think Ricko or Fitzy were ever reprimanded by the club for intolerable behavior because of alcohol.

With Cordner and Jared out there is hardly any one else who stands out, personally I would prefer Friend not to have it so he can just concentrate on his own game. Aubs is worthy of consideration in the mean time.

Absolutely.
Pearce didn't hurt anyone. He was being an idiot but committed no crime.
He was just stupid enough to get so drunk to a point where he had a camera in his face and was too intoxicated to care about that.
