I think some here under value Sammy's defense. He hits hard and very rarely misses.

However, Props who can play long minutes will become more and more valuable under the reduced interchange rules. Big boppers who struggle after 15 minutes like Kasiano will become rare beasts. This is the one area where Sam could certainly improve.

I never understood that logic. He helped deliver us a premiership and so now he owes us and should take unders? If I didn't believe that the nrl was a business then it would make more sense for us to give him the benefit of the doubt by giving him a favourable contract for helping us to be successful. In the end neither deserve to influence a contract.

Why any one would want him out is beyond me. Man gives 100%

It's the cap that wants him out. Not us.

It's like the situation with Maloney. He was happy with the size of the contract but not the length. He wanted 3 yrs we were only willing to offer 2. If we lose Sam it could come down to the same circumstance. Especially when u have some clubs like silly parramatta offering 4 year deals at 500 or more a yr to 31 yr old forwards.
