Except the media wouldn't pay the photographer a combined $60k for the images would they?

That's the point. I'm Johnny nobody, he's a supposedly elite athlete who has seen dozen of other athletes get done because of someone with a camera. So he should know better than to put himself in situations where his stupidity becomes public.

It reminds of stories about Babe Ruth in the 1920s. Because there was an understanding with the then pliant media, 99% of his peccadillos went unreported. There was a famous story of a Hearst reporter being on a train the Yanks were taking to Philly in 1928 when a half naked Babe Ruth was chased through the train cabin by a naked woman yielding a carving knife. The Hearst reporter said to his colleague, "it's good that we're not here as reporters as that would be newsworthy."

If all he did was get paralytic and act like a dickhead then Pearce should be suspended for a year and go to rehab, and not get out until he's clean and sober. If he did cocaine and acted that way then he should get the **** out of our club, for good.

And further to that, the same media turned a blind eye to disgusting human beings like Rolf Harris and Robert Hughes for decades and yet they expect us to be totally outraged by a 26 year old footy player who made a complete goose of himself whilst out drinking at a private party he had been invited to? Get some perspective. He did the wrong thing. He should be punished but I refuse to be outraged by his behaviour when there are far worse things in society to be outraged by.
