He never looks flustered Robbo. Too bad he's put in this position.

Robbo also said its too difficult to make a call on Pearce's long term future at this time.

Who at the club would be deciding his punishment other than the coach and his players?

I would have preferred Robbo make a stronger stance than just "well its up to others to decide if he is punished"

Roosters/NRL will also take into account previous incidents when deciding Pearce's fate.

pearce will be let go. Cant see him being allowed at the club. Imagine the public backlash if he was to be let off.

The coach is not his employer - the club is. Obviously, the club will ask Robbo what he thinks, but he is not in a position to make this decision.

I suspect the "someone else" he is referring to is the NRL.

The coach 100% has control over who plays in the team each weekend. He SHOULD be 100% in control of players' employment. If the club doesn't like the decisions the coach is making, then they can change coaches, but I would fully expect Robbo to be able to make the call on Pearce's future and not waiting for the board or even worse the NRL to be the enforcers.

I would understand if Robbo didn't want to come out right now and say whether or not he'll be sacked, but I would have expected at the very least for the captaincy to be revoked today.

The thing about Robbo (and any great boss) is the protection of their subordinates, and team unity, from outside forces, regardless of their subsequent re/action behind closed doors.
he might very well be, gtfo.
But all the paper pushing is still happening on this occasion, legal counsel, nrl integrity unit, and whatnot... it's not possible for Robbo to stroll out and announce the morning after the night before on Fox Sports Newsloop... he's gone!

It would be dumb to commit to anything right now. Let's put everyone on hold until we sort out our options. This is bigger than some hot-headed catharsis; the ex-communication of Pearce.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Anyone who thinks the coach has control over who plays in a team needs to talk to Robbie Farah and Jason Taylor.

What are you, Dr Moreau or something? Pearce will be going to the House of Pain. And I'm not talking about him going to L.A.
