  • Backline concerns

After just reading an article about SKD and his court case.....

Say (and I hope/have a feeling this won't happen) that he his found feel gulity in February. And also, say we release Jennings before the season starts to Parra.

Come round 1 we will have a centre pairing of Copley and ???? Maybe Aubo, whose good, but will struggle against the top centres in the game in regards to speed.

Surely the club won't release Jenko until they know for sure SKD will be all clear.

    It's a real worry

If we release Jenko + SKD then we'll sign Hayne as FB (same probability IMO). Fergo and Copley would make an alright centre pairing if this did happen, and we'd by far have the best backline in the comp (Hayne, Toops, Copley, Fergo and Burgess).

However, I hear your point. SKD's NRL career could be over... I mean if the charges are proven, he coukd go to prison. Would we then sign SKD as a Copley replacement? SKD would be on $400k+ yeah?

If we don't... what if SKD's goooooone and Jenko gets injured? We're fielding what... Bondi Hipster and Aubo? No disrespect to either (both have exceptional talent) but... scary and realistic.

Yep hayne will sign with us before he knows if he will make the first round of roster cuts in the NFL.

Soaring architectural who first started from a house in parramatta, and now are a major firm, are in talks to put up any amount of 3rd party payments to keep hayne in parra colours if he was ever to play in the NRL again.

I just read an article about Nuclear devastation and we need to sign some cockroaches right now. Else we will have no one to survive the apocalypse

New Zealand Kiwis star Shaun Kenny-Dowall's future at the The Official Sydney Roosters Page is on shaky ground it seems. ‪#‎NRL‬

the whole backline is especially in doubt during Origin
Likely Fergo, Jenko & Skids (court case), possibly Pearce (Origin injury cover) Toops

Yep it's essentially telling us what we already know though. SKD will be defending multiple charges at some point. If convicted, there's no chance he'll play again in 2016 given the heavily charged political environment when it cones to DV (Rosie Batty as Australian of the year...etc, the female rights activists have been running amok).

Unlike GI, he's not gonna walk into court hand in hand with the crown's key witness who is sobbing away and saying she wants to withdraw the charges. IMO it's more than likely Peris won't enter the same room as SKD, and she'll come with mum and her new partner encouraging her to make her story sound as damning as possible.

SKD's gonna be up against it, and we know that. As a Roosters fan I'm cery much 'SAY IT ISN'T SO MATE!!' and will trust his innocence unless a court rules otherwise.

Unfortunately there is this apect of the RWB having to move on if he's convicted though. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Copley being our intended replacement for SKD if he's convicted (with us potentially trying to lock him up before he signs elsewhere, but not wanting to give him a 3 year contract if SKD is staying).

Yeah... if SKD's convicted, Jenko gets tired of the Copley games and Fergo's covering for our loss of RTS, we could be faaaaarked!!!

That said, on a more sober note, WTF is wrong with Aubo, and why stick with SKD over him if he's a wife basher? Aubo's frigging awesome and I'd love to see him secure a full-time spot. This could be the making of us (and him) if we are forced to get rid of a degenerate wife beater, sign a hungry Copley (keen to prove himself against the Broncos), Toops hits 2013 vintage form, Burgess hits his Super League form and Fergo slots in perfectly at FB... not so grim! We are the RWB and we'll adapt no matter what the courts and the NRL throw at us. We've got the best forwards in the comp... if they get their job done then any above average outside back should be able to perform (with 1st class service from Pearce and Horrie Jnr). What are we scared of? Bring on 2016!!! Roosters to win...

That's all good and well BUT if Hayne wants to win an NRL premiership before he retires he will forego $$$$ and sign with a premier club like ours.

I hope you all realise that the charges against SKD, as I understand it, are not concerning physical harm... other than one accusation of bruising on her upper arm where he grabbed her overly firmly. The Domestic Violence charges are almost entirely related to her "feeling threatened", and I think there was a mobile phone broken (I believe when she tried to call the guy she'd been cheating with during an argument).

Even if found guilty I think he is unlikely to face jail time. Whether he is emotionally able to cope in that scenario would be a bigger threat to his playing career IMO.

He'll get his 1 million a year, a crack at winning the comp and the honour of playing for the greatest team of all if he want's.

                            Just like SBW ala 2013.

I agree. Hayne is nearly 28 and would want to win a premiership under a good coach as he has done everything else, he would know that won't happen at Parra. Maybe that is why Fergo is playing fullback at this stage.... warming the seat ???
