I think the clubs focus isn't about dominating the next 2 seasons by paying overs and then sucking for the following 5.

A club that sucks and finishes down the bottom of the ladder for consecutive seasons hemorrhages $$$ in the millions.

It's a balancing act that wouldn't be easy.

It would be very sad to lose Cords, I think he is still underrated. One of the most well rounded forwards in the competition. I don't think we can afford to pay too much for him IF SBW is coming though - maybe 550 at the most. I wouldn't match the 700 than Manly are rumoured to be throwing at him.

If Lawrence comes we become unbalanced with an incredible amount of talent in the forwards and a surplus in the front row.

Due to the interchange rules, Cordner is important as he can play long minutes. If anyone in the pack should be moved on it is Moa and Liu who although great players, both are impact players who play small minutes and we already have Evans, Napa, JWH, SST to play those roles.

Leaves Cordner, Guerra, Aubs to play 80 minutes and leaves the forward pack with a much better balance.

To lose Cordner after losing Jennings, RTS and Maloney in the last 12 months would be a monumental stuff up from the club. His emotion after receiving the Jack Gibson medal last year proves his love for the club, hence showing if he were to leave that the offer was mediocre at best

I'm not sure how Manly could afford him. With DCE on mega bucks, and signing Tapau (international), Myles (on his last contract) and Walker (recently won a comp), I'd love to know how they could have the money to entice Cordner away.

No ..Knight has been the main target for a while wants to come too but Manly wont release him.......yet we almost had him couple of months ago
