Truth is, we don't have $1,000,000+ in the bank to sign him regardless. If we do, then WTF didn't we sign RTS for $800k? Aaaaah - because we don't have it.
you don't need a mill to sign Hayne you need about 650k the rest is 3rd party, with RTS they simply didn't think he was worth the money at the start of the yr and I am not sure he is either right now maybe next yr he might be worth that cash.

For $650k + TPD you won't get a full Hayne. Which half would you like?

Interestingly, as his manager has indicated Jarryd's going to have a crack at NFL in June 2016. I'd happily sign him to a conditional contract if HQ approves it. From a marketing perspective we would benefit.

I think he's going to spend that time training and learning the game so that he'll be much more improved for his second crack at it.

Jarryd obviously backs himself and I don't see him returning to the NRL anytime soon as doing so would leave questions unanswered. He would look damn good in a red white and blue jersey though.

He's finished in the NFL. He'll be forever known as the Fumbler from Down Under. They are ruthless mofos.

It was a great effort, Jarryd. And you exceded my expectations. But FFS come back here and do what you do best; what you were born to do - win B2B Premierships with the Roosters

A spy told me they were all at a restaurant last night there was SBW, uncle Nick and a few more and they all hugged and shook hands and then celebrated with sparkling. Uncle Nick was overheard saying welcome back son.

I dont think people fully grasp the concept of third parties.

Players like Hayne dont just accept less because he's getting money from third parties that he's worked hard to get himself.

Yes we can use money from the marquee allowance of 600k but that's included in the salary cap and for a financially well connected club as ours we'd already be at 100% of that allowance.

Hayne is a million dollar signature. No doubts about it.

Last I heard there was no $ limit to 3rd party deals? What do u think Bouris and uncle nick provide with their connections? How many players have signed for less with 3rd party deals.

Pretty much, being cut from a very poor 49ers squad and no one else showing even the slightest of interest........it's over for Jarryd and the sooner he realises it the better. The only way he gets on to the top squad of any franchise is if there is a plague of injuries....and even then it's unlikely.

It's time to come home Jarryd.

I am not sure that you have an understanding of how the cap and third party payments work.

The $600K marquee allowance that every club has, is outside the salary cap. This can be paid to 1 player or shared with as many as the club sees fit.

Any player can earn unlimited dollars outside the cap from third parties. These can not be arranged or guaranteed by the clubs. (This is where many see an uneven playing field, because some clubs are more attractive and have more interest from third parties than others. Easts do very well in this situation rightly or wrongly).

One would have to be quite naive to think that clubs do not have any sort of influence over third party deals.....
