Love him or hate him, at the end of the day Sam Burgess is an excellent player and the NRL can only be strengthened by his return. I could do without the media hype but generally speaking I would say it is good that he is back.

I have no idea who even suggested Luke was on 1mil.
You may want to actually read what I wrote earlier:
Souths have lost G Stewart @350K, I Luke @450 and B Lowe @300k, don't see a need for them to move anyone on. Considering they have bought nobody of any note apart from Burgess for 2016, those salaries would cover it easily.
They've had to upgrade many contacts, a lot of which were still on their rookie contract so they've had sizeable upgrades.

I think you will find Stewart was on a lot less than $350K. They also signed their halves to new contracts. They would not have come cheap.
The first few years at Souths Sam was in the books at $150K plus unlimited movie tickets. His Mum was on $300K.
John Lee has stated that in order to get Sam under the cap that they will need to move someone on. He also said that the two druggos won't be leaving.

And as you pointed out the player involved doesn't see any of the transfer fee or so they say. It will be interesting to find out what $$$ Bath got as a transfer, wouldn't you agree? And whether Surgi get's to keep any $$$ already paid in lieu of turning out for Bath?
If your numbers are correct then the lols are indeed still short... Cook... $200k? (should be $800k if bean lowe was on $300k), and another two 2nd tier signings from memory @ $80-100k each? + the player upgrades mentioned earlier..."The only time you start at the top is when you are digging a hole."

I love how decisions like the Burgess signing are made months ago and the club and the code will control the press releases almost daily, fabricating lies and spinning shit until they're ready to announce. Make no mistake, this deal was made long ago and south's will have worked out how to fit him in.

And everyone whinges about our salary cap and call us the Rorters, We built the team from players that were not big names before coming here.
I feel we are well under the cap and holding off for Hayne to come back. We are not desperate for anyone.
Greenturd looks so happy it made me sick.
I have already put $500 on Souths with Nine and NRL gifting them the 2016 premiership.

Mate, that list means absolutely nothing because these are only guesses at what people earn including third party payments, which does not really have much to do with a salary cap.
Good on Souths for getting their best player back...
When SBW comes back to Easts all the other clubs fans will be carrying on like most on here today, but Easts will make it happen within the salary cap also....
