    I seriously doubt he'll be back as player, but I'am sure Nick has plans for him in the somewhere, a mentor to the young players coming thru, marketing, etc, plenty of things he would be a benefit for the club.

      He was no.1. A ****ing God amongst mortals. We'll see another Thurston before we ever get close to seeing another freak like SBW.

      Can't argue with that.

        I actually think he will be back as a player in 2017.

          You were right but he shouldn't have been given a replacement IMO. If he didn't value it enough in the beginning why did they replace it for him? As for the kid, he's got form. He likes to jump fences at sporting events and if he can play the sympathy card then he'll probably come out with a souvenir....He's already picked up a signed cap from Rory McElroy. Sorry but I am a little cynical about it all specially since the kid comes from some well of background but likes to be a little brat and invade sporting events. Had he been some poor child or Sonny had given his medal to a child with a disability then I would have seen this a great act...of course I'm in no way blaming Sonny. He's still a legend IMO.

            Just throwing this out there as well, and to use your own words;

                But as a kid, invading the ground after fulltime was half the fun, especially if you could go home with an intact corner post.

                  I can't wait for him to be back at our club in 2017.

                    How can you say that, at the same time as sprouting bullsh!t about him being disappointed with the playing group and that he "downed tools" in 2014?

                    It doesn't make any sense...

                        Well he also got the kitchen sink. Next time he runs onto another pitch, he'll be sponsored by Luxbet.

                          Ok I'm convinced.
                          8 years hard labour for conning SBW and 20 to life for pitch invasion in the first degree.

                          Oh, and execution at dawn for coming from a family that is well off .

                              SBW is a top league player IMO but wont be considered as 1 of the greats because of his stints off in Rugby where I personally don't think he has been a stand out.
                              He has done well in Rugby but he was a sensation in League.
