  • coaching changes for 2016

seems we are totally revamping our junior coaching structure for 2016

Arthur Kitinas has returned to coach the SG Ball side

Justin Stewart is coming onboard to coach the Harold Matthews side

Adam Hartigan is leaving as NYC coach, not sure who is taking over but hopefully its not Anasta.

not overly surprised we are changing things up, this season was probably our worst in terms of junior development for quite a while.

I wouldn't complain if we swapped McNamara for Toovey!

That would be awesome. Either him or rick stone, who regardless of what newcastle did to him, I reckon is a really good footy coach.

Obviously you guys don't know Mcnamara and all the work he does behind the scenes. I would not swap him for the world.

I am pretty sure Tony Barnes is the NYC coach in 2016

I reckon Robbo and McNamara should go on the biggest loser during the off-season.

          For charity.

What we need is someone that can design a decent program so we can peak when it counts!

Fark the minor premiership! Eyes on the big prize from now on.

I understand it makes it easier for us to accept our season failure by attributing it to something/someone I.e refs, Pearce, wrestling, programs, Robbo etc but I think it's time we just accepted that Brisbane were better than us on the day. We had a good season. Not good enough.

Kingbilly, I always read your posts with interest, you're obviously close to the club's junior system. What can you tell us about Justin Stewart and Tony Barnes? I don't think I've heard of them before. Also, what is it that McNamara does behind the scenes that impresses you so much?

Don't know that much , just what I heard from people in the know. Apparently the HM guy is from Newcastle and technically very thorough.
Tony Barnes was the Roosters SG Ball coach in 2014 when they won the comp

We need to understand why we played our worst game of the season against the Broncos.

Identifying why and working towards improving these areas isn't looking for excuses.

Me either, I think he is the man to put the starch into Pearce and Hastings, but I think he will be offered the national coaching job.

I don't think it's starch Pearce lacks...more so finesse and smarts.

That Justin Stewart is absolutely crap, he coached at Manly and Newcastle and is apparently not nice to his players, why would the Roosters grab him

Adam Hartigan needed to go, he is another crap coach, he stuffed the u20s up.. under a good coach they could have won it this year

I have seen Justin Stewart he can't put 2 words together, he is from Newcastle and they punted him as well as Manly and I have been told he is rude to the kids. Big No from me

In spite of the score the Brisbane game was nowhere near our worst performance of the season. We lost that one due to two heinous errors in the opening 10 minutes which directly led to 10 points The pass SKD threw which was meant for RTS we have been throwing all ytar and getting good go forward from them, and the RTS error with the rolling ball was also a regular feature of the year

I understand your point. But I don't agree it was our worst game of the season. And it should be acknowledged that Brisbane had close to one of their best games of the season. Some of the passes that stuck in that game would have been knocked on 9 times out of 10 in the regular season. Their third try, I think it was, was just brilliance and one of the try's of the year for mine. We tried our hardest to claw our way back but just couldn't get there. The best team on the day won. Someone had to lose. It'd be a different story if we played a garbage team and lost by 30 on our biggest game of the year.
