Hi everyone, I saw something on facebag about us being invited to this 3 day tournament in which the top 3 sides of NRL play off against the top 3 SL sides. The WCC is included in this and the team that gets the most wins is crowned champions of the world. Is this a gee up or for real?
It would be good to kick some ass in this perhaps redeeming our sputtering finish to this season?

I really don't want us in this BS comp.
We will start the season tired and unfresh.
Bad decision by the club. What's the benefit?

Yes more bad then good can from it , but I spose it all comes down to growing the brand, only time is going to tell on this one.

I can agree that it's probably not the best preparation for the upcoming season.

I'm ok with taking part as long as we are smart enough to keep our eyes on the bigger prize.

              Team bonding trip?
              Training run for Burgess?
A chance to show the poms what a real forward pack is like?

Probably a good idea to leave JWH, Fergo and Friend at home however.

I agree with this comment and would even if it were played in Sydney. Can't the club say no thanks?

                  They were given the choice.

The ponies went over earlier this year and they ended up having a very good season including making the GF.
I have no problems with us making the trip for this glorified trial.
If it makes our team even stronger and closer, then I am all for it!

I'm pretty sure each team only play one game each, with both grand final winners playing for the WCC.

It was like that last year, and it would be pretty tough playing 3 games in three days.

Right. OK then, they've made their bed. Good luck in 2016 Roosters.

I really dont mind it. Its good for the brand and to try test out early some key positional changes. New Five Eight/Full Back.

Does anyone know or can find out how close to the Auckland Nines is this WCC tournament?

I think they're only a week apart which makes logistics and squad selections very interesting.

Hopefully we beat the Donkeys by a Golden Point.

It was so entertaining watching Bennett throw his toys on the ground.
