A CARELESS tripping attempt by James Maloney could leave the Roosters without both their premiership winning halves for the start of the finals after he was placed on report against Souths.
Maloney was cited in the 24th minute when he stuck his leg into the path of Rabbitohs forward Kyle Turner as he gathered up a loose ball.
With a clean record and no carry-over points to his name, the Chooks five-eighth would need to be hit with a Grade 2 tripping charge to face suspension.
An early guilty plea to a Grade 1 charge — which attracts a base penalty of 75 points — would leave Maloney free to play in week one of the finals.
The Roosters will already be without NSW Origin half Mitchell Pearce, who is hopeful of making a return from a hamstring injury in 2-3 weeks.

If Stewart got over his nightmares on Moa from the 2013 GF then he will be having reoccurring nightmares after tonight.

Surely Stewart was falling. Grade 2 is a bit of an exaggeration. I think he will be ok.
