  • Not sure how reliable this source is, but.......

Code-hopping superstar Sonny Bill Williams is set to return to the Sydney Roosters in 2017 after a handshake agreement with Roosters club supremo Nick Politis.

The details of the new deal are yet be finalised with Williams heavily focused on the Rugby World Cup in England and the Rio Olympics in 2016 where the premiership-winning forward will represent the Kiwis in the rugby sevens.

We revealed way back on July 27th that Williams had been spotted at Allianz Stadium which doubles as the home base of the Roosters.

It is our understanding that SBW will return to the Roosters to finish his career with the option of a one or two year deal ready to go.

A source who formerly worked at the Bondi club has told The81stMinute.com that it’s a done deal.

“He will finish his career with the Roosters,” he said.

“Politis has probably known since he first left that he was coming back.”

Stars Michael Jennings and Sam Moa are both off contract in 2017 and could make way for the returning All Black.

There had been whispers that Canterbury were also a chance of snaring the signature of the man who once famously walked out on the Belmore club to play French rugby.

“Sonny thinks of himself as a Rooster in league,” the source added.

“Nick is too good a mate to him.”

Then a no to that. Even the great freddy fittler had nothing left in him after he hit 30. I'd much rather try and bring back RTS after he realises what a massive mistake he as made.

SBW has played his part for us. Its time to move on.

Freddy was 30 in 2002, yep he definitely did nothing for us except get us to 3 grand finals.

Depends where they play him. I think they would play him at centre, rather than the forwards. And for me that would be a good thing. His body would hold up well. Fergo and SBW as our centres 😀😀

Somehow I get the feeling that what any of us think that Uncle Nick will make up his own mind.

I love SBW and will be forever grateful for his contribution however we are sweet for back-rowers. The current crop will be in their prime. That money would be better spent on other positions imo.

I guess his profile would be good for the clubs bottom line. The NRL would also want him back and may contribute to his salary.

                      Dunno.

                      Interesting.

To me Sonny Bill is a Rooster.
I hope its not because I have blocked all memories of 2004 outta my mind.

                        No, It can't be.
                        I dunno either (2026)
Hope uncle Nick defers to young Trent in these cases.

Some odd decision making of late.

                          Perhaps Pearcey's in-charge

I've come to realise that sometimes his poor decision making in the red zone has a positive.

That being - No one including himself knows what the fark is about to unfold. This keeps the opposition in 2 minds.
