  • Pearce out of finals week 1

not really surprising given what Robbo said in his press conference today, but Pearce just confirmed on FSN that he was still a couple of weeks away from returning.

certainly not the end of the world given the way Hastings has played when called on.

So, first game back into a sudden death situation? He'd want to be 100% fit...

I suppose there is a very real possibility that his return game could be the GF. That would be a tough decision, especially if Jackson was killing it. They would, of course, bring him back but it would not be without some worry lines (especially because they would probably have to carry Jackson on the bench just in case).

It wouldn't be an Easts GF without a key player coming in with a suss hammy. I'm thinking Ricko and O'Donnell.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

It won't be a tough decision. Pearce has been there long enough that the club will know what they are getting if he says it's good to go. It's the mark of Robbo as a coach that he would never deny a regular season player the chance to win a grand final if they said they were 100%.

            I'd be sticking with Hastings.

exactly. His combo with maloney last week was really smooth and his kicking game was good as any half running around these days. So excited to watch this player develop over the next few years and hopefully another club doesn't steal him from us.

It will only take one bad week by Hastings for posters requesting that he be benched.

Surely you don't think that the posters in here are that fickle.

I was about to post the same thing while reading through this thread.

Yeah, Hastings hasn't done anything wrong and can get the job done, but Mitchell's the man.
