  • Channel 9- James Maloney

Did anyone see the 9 news sports coverage tonight? Danny wideler the flop interviewed maloney and said that the chooks chose to pursue Hastings and that's what forced maloney out of the club. I thought it may have just been typical sensationalism but then it cut to Jimmy who said he has no hard feelings towards the club and that Hastings has a lot of potential and the club decided to go with him.

Big call. Wonder what Hastings is worth and what that means about where we're positioned in the salary cap.

The Sharks have won lotto and will go close to winning it next season.

Especially if Townsend ends up there as well. Robson has to be the worst hb in the game. If maloney wanted to stay though I wonder if Hastings was considered an option at fullback.

I will state unequivocally that we've let the wrong half go. Saturday night showed that Maloney and Hastings should have been our halves combo. There have been some boneheaded, bordering on seeming to actively attempt to ruin this club, retainment decisions of late and letting Maloney go is top of the list.

We're stuck with that goober we call a halfback until he wants to retire.
        SUPER DRAGON!

Townsend has signed a 2 year deal. He'll play at 6, Jimmy at 7.

I'm not sure about you but I saw a side dominate field position and only walk away with 8 points. Our 2nd try was a gift from the Broncos.

Everything good we did in attack was coming off the back of Jake Friend. As admirable as Hastings fill in performance was and Maloney nor RTS's efforts can be ignored our attack was very disjointed.

Saturday night showed the value of a good organising half, shame people still can't see it or rather don't want to see it.

Aren't you the same guy who wanted Mortimer at half back?

Gee Johnny that's harsh. He may not be Andrew Johns but I think his 100% effort for us every week should be respected.

Pearce has always been solid for us. For me though, as Pearce is more if a structured player I worry that Hastings will have to do too much too early in his career. That pressure can ruin young players. Next to maloney Hastings can play the Pearce role which is arguably easier as maloney is the one we often rely on for a short kicking or to take the line on and back up with support play. It'll just be interesting to see the role Hastings is given next year.

I fear for our attack next year without jimmy and sheck.

Uncle nick needs to send jnr and jwh to america to get bionic parts so we don't throw away this years premiership. Thought junior was only going to miss a few weeks, but if the minimum month is true, we are in some poop. Horry should be ok for the regular season games, but asking alot to carry him throughout the finals.

                    You never know though.

                      Townsend is ordinary.

I agree with Johnny, we should have kept Maloney.

On the Sunday Footy show, I don't think Fittler was very positive about where Hastings is at the moment. He described him as 'pointing too much' instead of rolling his sleeves and doing some ball running and creating things. If Freddy can see that, then that gives me a bit of doubt of how far Hastings can go but hopefully Jacko heades the advise and takes charge on the front foot.

13 thank God he is not AJ .

100% should be all we ask of players , the rest is up to the coaches, to recognize the weaknesses and devise Game plans accordingly.

Personally BBQ offers more and will be missed next year, for this year as long a he keeps giving his 100% that is enough for me this year- next year is another year with new challenges.

I'm a big man...too big according to my doctor...so I can admit when I'm wrong. My only excuse is, when you're in an abusive relationship...like Mark Latham and anyone who reads anything he writes or listens to him...then you look for an out. I belonged to the APGBP organisation....Anyone Please God But Pearce.

Now I belong to the Hoju is not Andrew John's...for reasons other than his organizational ability....but he is better than Pearce, in my opinion.
