  • Can we win the comp without JWH?

What a massive loss. Should Matagi come straight in for him to keep the bench strong?

  • #2
Is Matagi good enough to start so the bench stays strong?
I don't think we can afford the luxury of a utility on the bench with the loss of the strike power of Jarred.

Yes. Napa & Evans really stood up last night. Add Moa back to the mix.

      No, we can't.

Losing Fairfax was bad enough, but now that we've lost Mark Harris and replaced him with this unknown, John Rheinberger, we can say goodbye to our 1975 Grand Final hopes.

Anyone read the Big League this week?
Matagi has a great attitude, this is his big chance to step up.

Moa starts with Matagi on the bench imo

I effin hope so. I thought our Baby Props; Liu, Napa and Kane were immense last night.

Liu hasn't been getting the raps from last night but I thought he was close to MOTM. His carries were direct and really bending the Broncos line. In addition Liu has the knack of nearly always landing on his chest and all fours so gets very fast play the balls for Jake to get the roll on. Liu rarely gets rolled or rag dolled.

JWH is a massive loss as leader of our pack. But now it's time for our cubs to step up. The script is in and we may even get some media support on our way to the GF.

I agree with Gary Worthless. It is now time for our younger forwards to break out of the shadows and establish themselves and I have every faith that they can do it.

Yes I believe we can win for competition without Jared. That is not meant to discredit his importance to the team because he is fantastic but we are not reliant on any one player as some teams are and our character and mental strength is very high. It will not be easy but it is not automatically over. We have a chance.

It reminds me a bit of the 1995 cricket tour to the West Indies. Australia lost their 2 best fast bowlers before a ball was bowled and everybody was saying we were gone. Then a young quick by the name of Glenn McGrath decided he would lead from the front and the rest is history. Time for Napa to step out form the shadow of JWH and Moa and lead the way

An SKD return would lift the team.

we will. we are well drilled and well coached. what happened last night with key players being injured and us being some what unlucky in not scoring more tries with a inexperienced half who came of age proves to me we can win the comp.
the morale of this team is absolutely amazing and the will to win on show yet again last night. our game has changed considerably and some here judged my comments we were playing a 2013 game during 2014 and earlier this season whilst only recently robbo put his hand up on that and to his credit he has come up with a different style of game in attack but also being defence based. we can surely win it and if morale is the indicator then we are miles in front of other teams as i haven't seen a team to display what we have as a team. its certainly a special team this 2015 with or without kep players. Their resolve and belief is amazing.

Immediately after the game yesterday I was bloody worried. But this morning I still have some belief that we can do it. I have heard that Matagi has been so a 50 minute stint for the Roos?? I have faith that he can do it. We really need to win next week and dominate the forwards. With JWH I feel as though teams feared our forwards and with him out we lose a bit of that.

                    5. Elliot
                    6. Maloney
                    7. Hastings
                    8. Moa
                    9. Friend
                    10. Napa
                    11. Cordner
                    12. Guerra
                    13. Sst

                    14. Liu
                    15. Matagi
                    16. Evans
                    17. Aubusson

That's still good enough and may need to play through to and including the Prelim.

BUT... anymore injuries and it's Willie Manu time. We're really walking the tightrope now. Skd back would fuether limit the damage of Jwhs loss as he's been a beast on kick returns.

                    Come back Skidsy!

The rest of the game showed we can handle his absence. Moa and Napa starting are more than capable, with Evans coming off the bench. Its just a fuking pain in the ass.

The big question is, can we make it to the GF without Pearce?

With Evans concussed and Napa cited, what sort of front row could we possibly field next Friday? Do you go with Lui and Mataga as the starting props, and just hope that Moa is back?

Reminds me of 1996 when Lowrie and Hermansson both broke their arms, leaving us with no front row.
