With Pearce potentially gone for the season as well I don't think we'll win the comp. It was basically the 5 minutes from hell that derailed our season.

But hey, the players won't give up and they're still a shot so let's see where they take us.
While I don't pretend to have the infallible foresight of some on this forum, we still have a lot of talent at our disposal - enough to give this competition a massive shake. I remember feeling a similar sense of dread in 1975 when we lost Fairfax mid season and Harris two games out from the GF.

      Awesome gutsy win
Down to 15 players after 20 minutes and then a one man bench with 15 to go
The corrupt officials calling guerras try a forward pass when it clearly was not
Massive blow losing JWH for the rest of the season but we still have the cattle
Bring on Manly. Cant wait to end their season next Friday night

We just beat the team that was on top of the table. We had a 2 man bench rotation for most of the game and then lost Kano with 10 to go. Also no Moa who will be back for the finals if not before hand.

We can still win this! Our forwards will lift to cover JWH and SOH is more than capable and with a bit of luck we may see SKD make a return.

Tonights win will give the squad plenty of confidence. They have the mental strength and will to go all the way.

There is a lot of ticker in this team.
They fired up at some key points in the game , I really liked how they reacted when Boyd milked a penalty , they showed they have a gear to kick up into.

Up there with the Manly Semi Final 2 years ago for guts. It has come at a very high cost losing arguably the best forward in the comp for the season plus a good part of next season.

I honestly think the Hastings, Maloney combination Will be just as effective as Pearce, Maloney. Hastings doesn't have Pearce's speed or experience but he has one quality that Pearce doesn't seem to have 'time'.

We just beat the comp leaders up to tonight with 2 of our leaders on the sidelines for the best part of the game. A 2 man bench plus a couple of awful decisions that costed us probably 12 points. Lost Kane with about 13.minutes to go and still won.

Give us a full bench plus the warmer weather of late September hopefully a week off before the PF and what we lose in JWH will make up for a possibly tired Dogs pack from playing successive sudden death semis and with our Moa, plus young tyros Napa, Evans, Liu, SST and Matagi if required we have the firepower to blow most packs away and even belt the Dogs. IMO the smokeys are the Storm.

we WILL WIN IT with a fit roster and no suspensions. I cringe at the thought of the shoulder charge edict costing us a key player in the finals or grand final. Imagine no jwh , or injury to jimmy and no goal kicker. We could still win it but then the refs could also make it so so difficult.

As the resident clairvoyant .......I predict.....we can still win it ...we will now and lift in the absence of jwh and pearce.
