  • Roosters vs Broncos match discussion

don't think I have been this pumped for a Roosters game since we lost to the vermin in the prelim last year.

it will be a real dress rehearsal for what lies ahead in the finals.

hopefully Robbo/Fitzy have sorted out our recent defensive lapses, we really need to settle what we are doing on the right edge, can't keep having Pearce/Fergo shooting out of the line leaving massive holes.

some speculation that Moa may return off the bench, if he plays I wouldn't be surprised if Robbo continues with his Maubs/Fergo experiment.

    we may lineup like this.

    RTS
    Toups
    Jennings
    Maubs
    Fergo
    Maloney
    Pearce
    JWH
    Friend
    Napa
    Cordner
    Guerra
    SST

    Hastings
    Liu
    Moa
    Evans

I think Hastings is a waste of a bench spot.

      I dunno.
When you read how much actual game time some of these bench players get, it makes you think that 3 fresh forwards is plenty.
If we lost Pearce or Maloney to injury during a game Hastings would be very handy.

      Roosters by 14.

I think every opportunity we get to give J Friend a rest is paramount. That coupled with halves cover is why good have Hastings there.. As well preparation for next yr-every minute Hastings plays nrl this year better we are going be when lose RTS and maloney

+1. Focus should be solely on the big prize.

The only exception is the opportunity to knock Souths out of the top 8 in rd 26. That would be a bigger prize than the minor premiership :-)

            Agree.
Aubo's versatility covers any forwards or backs that may go down.

I don't reckon Robbo gives 2 hoots about next year. He can worry about that in October.

Now you're talking. Wouldn't that be special.

for whatever reason Robbo doesn't like to use Maubs in the backrow and backup hooker in the same game, he will either start Maubs as a backrower/centre or use him off the bench as cover for Friend but never a combination.

I don't know why he couldn't spend 15 minutes giving Friend a spell and then have another 35 minutes as a backrower in the same game.

Given for and against differentials, this is statistically unlikely, but here is the fantasy scenario: we wrack up a 50 point win against them to secure the minor premiership and bundle the Welfare Premiers out of the eight. I don't think life could offer me anything more after that. I think I would just ascend into heaven directly from my seat at Allianz...

Is SKD any chance of a surprise comeback? He played so well in first match

no chance, a lot more important things than football for SKD to concentrate on, needs to worry about his own health first and foremost.

These weekends when we win and Souffs lose are better than sex.

                          Let's go Roosters!

Souths not that far in front of Manly differential-wise. The biggest concern for Manly would be the Roosters game next week. Recall back in Round 25 2013 we dropped a game against the Titans in preparation to beat Souths the following week.

I suggest that either you haven't had it or haven't been doing it right because nothing's better than that. Not even a grand final win.
