  • In total honesty .....

After every game , win lose or draw ,we get posters saying this player should be dropped or this player played shyte etc.....
In total honesty of the current roster and between now and GF day who do you think should be dropped and most importantly why? And replaced by whom?
Personally I think this roster compliments each other and would love to see an injury free for the top 17. That's Moa included of course.

Probably the most out of form player is guerra. Liu has been quiet for the last couple of months but he has never really been one to stand back. He quietly goes about his work.

But guerra is a big game player so he stays in the run on side.

The biggest head ache is when is comes to finals. A bench of Hastings, Moa, Evans, Liu and Taukeiaho and I can't tell you who I would drop out of them.

Barring injuries, we have the best team in the comp. The best forwards, the best backline and the best bench.
Why would anyone want anyone to be dropped? If anything we have a surplus of good players and it is more a question of who is the unlucky one to miss out each week.
At the moment resting players is taking care of that. But at full strength come semis time who misses out? My guess would be SoH.

We are truly spoilt. In past times we would be so happy with just a win. Now often we are unhappy after wins.

People who only started following us in the mid-90's have been so lucky.

It's good to be a rooster.

I only got here in 2000 JT. It's fair to say I've had a decent run.......

I would be a lot less bitter if I was in your shoes.

I arrived here in August 1999 from England.

As such I'm both shocked and outraged when we DON'T make the Grand Final

It's funny how you remember the good times so much better than the bad, as relatively few as they have been. Season 2000 is so much clearer in my mind than 2009, or even 2011.

We really have been blessed because it's such a flat feeling when the team is awful, and especially when you know they're going to be awful heading into a season (e.g. 2012). I feel for Knights and Eels fans.

I can recall one of my earliest memories of rugby league football was at the old Sydney Sports Ground where Eastern Suburbs played out a rather high scoring draw with the Western Suburbs Magpies in season 1983 or 1984, I was only in 4th form in school at the time I believe and we played rather poorly that year and both teams finished towards the bottom. I truly believed that in season 1987 our team was going to go all of the way and win the premiership and I was very hopeful and that age so understandably I was rather shattered at the events that transpired.

I do not understand how there can be such harsh criticism of our players or our coach when our current team has been so successful in recent years and I believe that some of the louder and harsher critics will not fully appreciate how good some players have been for our club until those players have moved on.

Anyone ever complains about Trent Robinson, I've got two words for you.

                  Mark Murray.

A thoroughly decent human being but, and in keeping with my not saying anything potentially libelous, not the best coach in the history of Rugby League.

Don't forget that we were 27 years between premierships. A lot of us were here for every one of them.

Very true. Including a 20 year gap between GF appearances. And 6 in 15 years since then.

As everyone would be aware we've only won the comp four times in the last 70 years. And yet we're held up as this perennially successful juggernaught that everyone despises accordingly.

Similar to Collingwood in a sense who have been equally unsuccessful, Premierships wise, despite being held up as a glamour club.

We are unquestionably the most successful side since the turn of the century however.

Two Premierships, three Minor Premierships, and six GF appearances in 15 years. It truly has been a golden era.

Something I appreciate as an ardent Sheffield Wednesday fan in football (15 years in the doldrums of lower league English football).

We are from the same vintage BAW. I attended a number of games at the SSG in the early 80s. I was also at the SCG for the 1987 semi final against Manly and was shattered at that result (10 - 4 (or 6?) loss in a brutal game). We didn't recover from that match and then were in the doldrums for about the next decade. 1980 to 2000 was a very long wait. We have been spoilt since then and maybe because of that we all now hold higher standards. But I'm glad I've stuck solid for the last 40 odd years and my persistence was rewarded by attending in person our GF win in 2013 (I live on the North Coast). What a night!!
