  • Roosters sign Ian Henderson

Sydney Roosters have reportedly signed hooker Ian Henderson from Catalans Dragons. The former Roosters, Parramatta and Warriors rake is set to leave the Super League at the end of the season to link back up with the club where he made his debut in the 2003 season.

The move will see him link back up with coach Trent Robinson, who initially coached him at the French-based Super League club.

"I am sad to say that after five years here I will be heading home at the end of the season," Henderson said.

"It was definitely a tough decision to make and one that didn't come easy. At the end of the day the timing is right for me and my family to return home and I look forward to the opportunity to play in NRL again."

WTF is going on here, why are we signing so many duds , he's too old for NRL, so why don't Wyong sign him and not us, these classless signings are doing my head in.

I reckon he provides good cover for Jake Friend. He is a tough little bugger with plenty of experience. Still going alright in Super League, the few times I have seen him play. Definitely prefer him to McIlwrick.

Why the hell would we sign Henderson when we have a Friend clone in Grant Garvey

I like Garvey too but he is untried at first grade level and who knows if he will make it? If, heaven forbid, something happened to Friend and Garvey wasn't able to handle the step up, an experienced hand might be just the insurance cover we need.

Wow there's a blast from the past.

I'm surprised we didn't look at Arthur Mountier first.
