  • Do we need to lose a game before the finals?

I am actually of the opinion that I wouldn't want us to go into the finals on the back of a 12 game winning streak. And I think it wouldn't hurt if we had a close loss soon; even if it was at the expense of a top 2 spot.

Looking back to 2014 I thought we put too much effort into beating Souffs in rnd 26, losing Napa and Guerra to suspensions. We then went into the finals on a 6 game winning streak but played like a team due for a loss.

So what do you reckon? Would you be nervous heading into the finals on a 12 game winning streak?

Personally I reckon we'll lose in rnd 25 vs Manly. We rarely go well at Brookvale. But the loss will probably be a good thing.

Tommy the way we can backflip during a game, a loss is always lurking nearby, so don't be worried about having a loss it will come.

I see your point Tommy. Every consecutive win brings you closer to the inevitable loss. Burnt Rooster is right though, a loss will come naturally simply due to the nature of this Roosters team who I thought were lucky to win against the 'dogs. Based on how things have gone this season, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if the Roosters lost against the knoughts this weekend because of how poorly the knoughts have been going of late.

The only reason I want to win them all is to jag a top two spot. I don't want to travel first week of the finals or to make the GF if we lose that one.

Stay positive and confident - I say win them all, including the GF!

I think we need to rest a few more players before the finals. Mitchell Pearce should be the first.

No one needs to lose. I like the idea of refreshing players though. If a loss comes then so be it but I wouldn't be worried about having a 12 match winning streak.

It is absolutely preposterous to think that we should in fact lose a match prior to our finals series campaign and if there is anybody within the coaching staff or the playing group who feels the same then we will not progress very far.

Well it will come down to how we will get the raw end of the deal in the referring department, so blatantly obvious against the Bulldogs on Friday night (and it was on show again, how the Souffs are going to get a leg up with the Referring yesterday, absolute disgrace to the game). So we will need to show great resilience as we did in 2013 to take out the BIG prize again.

Got to agree with Rocky. Souffs can only win the comp with the refs blessing. My teenage son was watching with me yesterday and told me it was too close and that the refs would manufacture a vermin win. Sure enough, back to backs and the vermin skipped clear.

For mine the cowboys are the team to beat.

I didn't suggest that we should lose on purpose.

Just whether or not, psychologically (50% of any sport) it's good or bad going into the finals series on the back of an enormous win streak.

We had totally run out of puff by the GF. The scoreline doesn't tell the story.
