This will be interesting as there would have to be a separate team for Reserve grade for us and Wyong would have to play in the 3rd grade comp ??

It has been talked about for some time but now confirmed. How will it effect the Wyong side as the Roosters will have to make a Reserve Grade up and Wyong will go into a 3rd grade comp

Its been coming, the Holden comp has been a disaster for the game, the kids have no idea how to tackle, that's why there has been so many blow outs in the scores, we need a solid reserve grade comp, to blood the youngsters amongst seasoned NRL players who may be coming to the end of their careers, and will teach the kids what tackling is all about.

come on chooky. they scrapped this (nyc) at the pre season and are now developing a reserve grade. a genuine reserve grade , unlike a pretend one.

will there be a minimum age for this reserve grade so we can blood good 20s players in this compo before 18? im curious to see what the arrangeme3nts will be for nsw cup teams? will the 20s play as 3rd grade before the reserve grade game?
if so the extra expenses for some clkubs might just tip them over happening to pay for 60 plus airline tickets to fnq and auckland plus accomodation expenses!

It would be like Jersey Flegg, Reserve and Firsts and then a separate comp for Wyong, Newtown, Wentworthville, Mounties etc

                    Opened Age Competitions

National - NRL, Reserve Grade (All 16 NRL clubs, teams contain current reserve grade depth players and the very best U20 players (eligible at 18), NRL and Reserve Grade teams combined to make a 40 man squad)
NSW - Ron Massey Cup, Sydney Shield
QLD - Not sure how the QLD system works but I think it's good as is

                    Restricted Age Competitions

NSW - Harold Matthews (U16), SG Ball (U18)
QLD - Cyril Connell Cup (U16), Mal Meninga Cup (U18)

Screw the age restriction, there should be a weight restriction.

Holden Cup only served the boost the egos of 18 year old footy players.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

                            I'm glad it's gone. I hated it.

I found the lack of defence to be painful viewing.

And as Vasco said, it only served to inflate the egos of giant 18 year olds who were in fact average footballers.

The coaching as well is terrible in the u20s. Clubs don't want to spend the $$$$ on decent coaches either. Most of them have not achieved NRL status but have just done a coaching course. The coaches will be better in Reserves
