I have no issue stating that I believe he is innocent. And resoundingly so.

Time will prove me either foolish or correct. But I'm putting it out there that imo he's the victim of a malicious attempt to destroy his name.

Well I hope your right. The other thing that concerns me though is that decisions in the Local Court (where I presume this will be heard) are notorious for the outcome being one of russian roulette - despite the evidence. If he did happen to be found guilty then he would have to go to the District Court if he wanted to appeal the decision. This is what happened in Greg Bird's case from recollection. It could easily take 12+ months to be finalised.

I don't think it's fair to say this (and as noted elsewhere, I've been through the laundry with false charges that I was able to disprove).

IMO the system can be really harsh if you didn't do it because it's designed to essentially give wife bashers no excuses and no opportunity to go back and keep beating her.

Any victim of DV (myself included as a male) will tell you that you don't generally report stuff if you're a victim... and if you do, then you do it after a long period of deliberation. There's all sorts of factors going through your mind... calling the cops to report your partner feels like the ultimate act of betrayal for most victims and most feel it will just go away if they wait it out.

In the past, when women spoke up they were regularly ridiculed in court and made to feel like liars. I can totally see why the pendulum has swung towards protecting victims.

My old family law lecturer was a massive feminist and would go much further than me (she essentially wants there to be an assumptionthat men are guilty unless they can prove themselves innocent IMO). I personally think the current balance is overly harsh on those who 'didn't do it'. However, you've gotta remember that most DV doesn't get reported and the vast majoroty of people reporting DV (men and women included) are not making up BS.

Some are and I'm very touchy about how much damage they can do if they manipulate the current system. However, these people are definitely in the minority and in my experience the courts are usually smart enough to know when it's a false claim.

as these charges only surfaced after a financial settlement couldn't be reached between the parties perhaps this might be part of SKD's side of the story that Robbo is alluding to.

A lot of people who are saying he is innocent or leaving the possibility open that he is guilty have no idea about the situation and are speculating purely on newspaper reports. The truth will be revealed in due time.

SKD's hospitalisation makes things very interesting, and very sad.

As I said in the original thread about this, he is my favourite Rooster and has always come across as a great bloke and one with plenty of patience and love for fans, so the allegations seemed very surprising.

I hope he is cleared of all charges, and that he is able to drag himself back out of this mess. I've heard from a few people that the whole story stinks, so if it does turn out to be fabrication I want Politis to throw his weight behind skids to help him sue the absolute **** out of everyone, starting with that ****wit Premier of ours, then moving onto Bourbon Bec and plenty of others who've attempted to throw him under the bus.

Have to say after watching that video I started to think when all is said and done where Robbo will rank amongst the greatest Roosters in our history. I was born long after Jack Gibson was around but I imagine he could be held in similar regard.

His re-signing last year probably attracted 1% of the attention RTS's departure has on this forum but it's by far the most important re-signing we've made in a long time IMO.

This could be the underlying reason why the charges were 3 weeks late, all be it first occurring in Oct.

The issue here is where has innocent until proven guilt gone ? It appears as though SKD is the only party truely suffering here.
