We don't need to spend big on a 5/8th(that can also kick at 70+%) unless SOH has requested a release.

That money should go towards landing an established FB until Latrell is ready.

When the rape-O shitbird Matty Johns interviewed SKD tonight, SKD pretty much admitted that Foran is going to be at the Roosters next year.

No he didn't. They blind sided him. SKD didn't even know what they were talking about.

The worst thing we could do is sign Foran. He will sort things out with Parra anyway which imo is better for the game anyway.

If we were to sign Foran I doubt there would be a Hayne, Folou or SBW in the future. And Hastings would walk for sure. I'd much rather wait until the end of August and see how Hayne goes with the nfl. Then have a crack at him.

I'd be delighted if we signed Foran.

It's a tough one. Part of me wants him at Easts.

judging by the statement released by Foran tonight it seems things are unrepairable with the Eels, he was basically saying how he feels disrespected by the Eels and way they are trying to re-write his contract.

When is a contract not a contract ?

Maybe Keiran is being handled by DCEs manager.

Even giving up Toups wouldn't bring enough cash to satisfy Foran I reckon. And then I can guarantee we would lose Hastings, who I doubt has any intention of biding his time behind Pearce and Foran.

Accept it, our halves pairing next year will be Pearce and Hastings.
I don't think we couldn't afford Jimmy. I think we didn't value him as high as a rubbish club like Cronulla.

Ask Parramatta. They are the ones trying to change it.

Maybe we can keep RTS ?

Whilst I really don't think Brett Stewart would leave manly, if they go after foran again as is being reported then he may be squeezed out to us.

Me too. But his salary would rip the team apart. We should have let Pearce go to keep RTS.
SOH and Foran would be nice halves.

No doubt the eels are a basket case but they had no option but to try to change it. The clause about leaving if the coach is sacked is ok. Lots of players have that. But the other one is ridiculous. Can walk away at anytime with a 1mill dollar payout. How that was allowed is just criminal. And of course you now have the eels board and ex CEO all pointing fingers at each other.

I thought it interesting that Paul Kent mentioned the reason they also lowered the contract value from 4.8 mill to 4.2 mill is because of the way the eels have structured the contracts third party payments. He mentioned that these must be completely separate from the club, which the eels did not do. The NRL have advised the eels of this so they reduced it to 4.2mill without telling Foran.
The whole thing is a debacle. I think if he goes anywhere it is back to Manly. As Kent said last night, they can offer him a similar type deal to DCE with most of it back ended after 2017 when they have most contracts off their books. They will have a great halves pairing but I can't imagine them having much else around it.

He is going back to Manly on an identical deal to DCE - which is even bigger overs than they paid DCE.

                                What idiots Manly are.
