Hastings can easily be coached into an 80%+ goalkicker.

Jackson is pretty decent goal kicker, one thing he might be better than his father in that department, Kevin was a handy goal kicker but really only a back up although he would nail a few from the sideline every now and then.
Somebody mentioned Boyd Cordner in another thread, he is about as reliable as Brendan Hall in the goal kicking department, horrible.

Apparently Mitchell Pearce kicks goals like he does field goals. So he would be up there in the Cordner class. SST will be your back up kicker and Jackson is a very good goal kicker my son SoS told me. It's lucky my son is so knowledgeable about the Roosters. It's a shame about the Stapo posters in his bedroom though.

His father Kevin was sharp shooter in the field goal department, he rarely missed when he lined up a drop goal.

Jackson was the main goalkicker when he played in the nyc and I assume he hasnt lost that skill as he jumped up the grades. Will have pkenty of time to practicd and improve.

Is there a case for us to start investing in multiple kickers? I find it a bit weird that we only have 1 guy who can do conversions and... really nobody who can do drop goals! Sure Maloney scored one last week but it was a SHOCKER!!!! It was low, it was straight and it was hard...

Why can't Pearce do conversions and drop goals? I woulda thought we could train Pearce, Hastings and I dunno... Fergo maybe... to kick. IMO if Fergo could do drop goals and conversions then it would add something to our attack. Right now we s*ck when scores are even in the last few minutes because everybody knows who the ball's going to (and unlike Melbourne/QLD/NZ we can't setup a cheating wall of obstruction around our go to man).

You can improve your goal kicking significantly(say from 50% to 70%) with practice and good coaching however you have to be reasonably proficient to start with. This comes from kicking at a young age.
