  • Recruitment/retention??

TIT I know.. But what's the go with our strategy with our recruitment and retention following the loss of RTS & now jimmy? if we lose Moa I will be seriously disappointed.

We won in 2013 because of SBW and James Maloney, not because of Trent Robinson.

I will be filthy if we lose Sammy. I'm just hoping it's either Hayne or Folau coming so they are making space. Or maybe it's just the cost of Fergos contract and other upgrades.

The losses need to be put into proportion with our re signings.

The players who came off contact at the end of this year and have been re-signed are JWH, Taukeiaho, Guerra, Friend, Napa, SKD, Ferguson and Latrell Mitchell.

Losing RTS was definitely a major mistake but in the grand scheme of thing we were always going to lose some players we wanted to keep and at 29 years of age offering Maloney big money with such a young squad to retain wouldn't have been a smart move. It's a shame be didn't take what we offered him but it certainly wasn't a move I can be critical of.

You do not concede 0 points in a match 6 times in one season and hold the best defence in the competition on the back of only two players.

Doubt it, Fergo won't be getting more then $400-$500,000. He's been good but there's still some injury concerns.

We'd have a lot of spare cap next year. I think Folau will be in the RWB if Hayne makes the 53 man squad.

I don't think there is a big name signing in the works for next year. I think more thought needs to be given to whether tupou could switch to fb. He's great under the high ball already. He knows our structures. Would allow Mitchell to have his wing spot until he's ready. Would provide the least disruption to the team and it might actually get him more involved. He's an obvious talent that we don't seem to get the best of consistently.

Toops isn't a FB. Would get dominated too easily.

If we don't sign a superstar I think we should put Mitchell at FB. There's no better place for a FB to learn FB then FB.

We won in 2013 because we shed a shitload of players in 2012 which enabled us to buy quality. And because of Trent.

I doubt he'd get dominated. He's about 105kgs. He would just need to be coached on how to return the ball. I'd rather toops at fullback than fergo. Be interesting to see how Mitchell goes when he debuts.

I'd be more comfortable with Fergo at fullback than Toops playing there.

Fergo will be the most dominant centre in the game when fit. I'd rather keep him there than use him to plug a hole.

Long time reader but first time caller, as they say. So be kind.

There is no need to worry about our retention/recruitment. Some big names and proven world class performers are on their way to our great club. Be patient and enjoy the next few years because they will continue to be top years for our club.

SKD could play fullback better than Toups and dont forget Joe Burgess.
